Who here is a fan of this series? I can say that I bought the 2nd one and it's scaring the crap out of my friends and I. It's going to take us forever to beat, because we can only play about 20 minutes into it before we lose it. We're all a bunch of scardey cats, though some aren't willing to admit it... I've heard people say that it's not that scary, and to those I have this to say: "You've got freaking nerves of steel and I commend you." Anyone else care to share their experiences with the series?
Also, on a side note, a group of people run this show called the Four Player Podcast, and I think they're hilarious. They've played Fatal Frame, and this is how they reacted: LANGUAGE! I've been playing Fatal Frame 4 lately and I've gotta say... it's not quite as eerie and lacks the same scares you find in the first two (I never played the third one).
Not to say it isn't a good game, but it doesn't hold a candle to the first games of the series.
I never liked the series. It's vastly overrated by fans in the USA for some reason. I liked the first three Silent Hill games so I was urged to play Fatal Frame. The first was alright because I thought the game was something new and original at the time even though the storyline was pretty bad, but not Resident Evil bad. However, the third one was just a bad game and I literally laughed through Crimson Butterfly on how pathetically scary it tried to be. I honestly can't believe that it's considered one of the scariest games ever made. It's like the Blair Witch of video games, some people think it's scary but it just turns out to be sad and laughable if you aren't already a twitchy/jumpy person.
