@DawgP Good point about motion, I left motion on because it felt most natural to aim (Splatoon vet...) but maybe if not trying to aim turning them off helps.

@Snaplocket THAT post should have been in the game! No idea why it wasn't. I read the stats but they all seemed to play the same to me except rosalina's curve. Hitting "harder" didn't mean much to me, and I didn't know they had different reaches. I can't say I did better or worse with any one character, though I gravitated toward Yoshi, Toad, and Spike. I liked Bowser somewhat....and I wasn't sure how to use Waluigi (and he's annoying) or Peach or Rosalina.

@Kwild over 400 games played?! Yikes...how did you even find time for that....and how did you WIN so many! I'd have been thrilled to have a 50/50 rate!

@NEStalgia Hitting harder means the ball goes faster. So your opponent has less time to react (as well as charge their shot) and gets pushed further back by charges shot, I want to say, too.

@NEStalgia Well, even if you don't pay attention, the characters clearly have different specialties like how Peach has much better ball control then the others while Toad is really fast.

They all have counters too. Rosalina might have vicious curve on her slices, but the curve only really kicks in at the back of the court, so moving slightly further forward means you can intercept the ball before it veers too violently in one direction or another. Similarly, I've found the Power characters generally have less capability to nail the corners of the court, meaning you can preempt their shots more easily and play nearer the net. Playing at the baseline might mean you're constantly chasing super speedy balls across the court, but the relative lack of angle on the shots can mean you're only only at less risk of a ball being hit past you from a more assertive position, but can respond with a wider range of angles yourself, putting pressure on the heavier characters' lack of speed.

Staying at the baseline can feel 'safe' as you have more time to react, but there are certain matchups where being more assertive is actually far more reliable.

Well, I got 130k points.. hopefully thats enough for Top 5
Cant wait to play it on 22nd June and hopefully they'll announce the rankings as soon as possible.

@Maxz Great control means the ball will go the far corners but the technique characters are usually pretty weak. Spike is both powerful and has decent control but has crap reach. The list goes on.
