Which game are you trying to play? It would help to know to make sure you are setting it up right.

Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.

@Khanhhung I'll give answering a try.

Be aware, not all games support half joycons or two player with half joycons. Some games may only let you set switch your controllers around at the game's main menu, not during an actual game. Worst case scenario, you may have to go to Switch home screen, open the controller icon, and set your joycons up in there.

Edit: removed point regarding airplane mode that was wrong, as OP points out below. The setting allowing bluetooth whlie Airplane mode is On is only accessible when airplane mode is ON. If you look for the setting while airplane mode is off, it's not findable. /Edit

Check if the Joy-Con's SL and SR buttons are working. They broke on one of mine, so I can't connect that one on it's own any more.

@WoomyNNYes Huh? Yes they do - I almost exclusively use wireless controllers, and they work fine without wifi.

Ditto. I've got a few joy-cons that have this problem. There's a ribbon cable inside that gets bent 180°, causing the cable to eventually fail.

I fixed the first one myself, but am tempted to send them to Nintendo this time as it seems too frequent a thing now.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@Markiemania95 Oh, you're right. Forgive me. The setting that allows bluetooth while airplane mode is On cannot be found when airplane mode is off, which is how I was searching for the setting. The setting is only accessible while airplane mode is on. Pure trickery.(on nintendo's part)
