Topic: Switch lite - LCD screen light leak

I’m sorry if this sounds stupid, first ever switch owner. I haven’t had a Nintendo device/console since the first wii.

Everyone I know that has a lite (yellow, gray and blue) doesn’t have this issue but that’s only a handful of people. I don’t know anyone with coral if that color would make a difference in being able to see a light.

I have the coral pink switch lite and tonight I noticed where the bar code is, there is a light that illuminates from it.

I have never dropped it or thrown it across the bed or anything that could warrant damage. Is this something I just over looked or is this an issue?

I also have no idea how to add a photo 🙄

Thank you, any recommendation on your favorite sticker? Maybe a “good job!”. @Eel

@Skyefye the image has to be hosted somewhere. Use this script, but without the spaces

@Skyefye Without seeing your switch, I wonder if the housing wasn't closed fully. Which, could possibly be fixable? I haven't seen a Lite tear down or fixing though; There may be some YouTube videos. I've seen regular Switch teardowns. So I assume there are videos for the Lite. I don't know off hand if Nintendo used those tri wing screws on the Lite, which can be bought.

Being a new switch, you do have warranty coverage, but I've heard Nintendo's repair services are closed with the outbreak.

I’m wondering the same. It seems maybe it flexed open (for lack of better terms?). I’m not using a laptop to post so I’m totally ignorant to posting photos with that script lol. I pre-ordered the coral lite From game stop so it’s fairly new. I’m also really upset to know you can’t transfer game progress because that’s my most played game ATM 😐 I kinda contemplated a regular switch too lol. I tried to research on Nintendo but their returns are closed rn, you’re right ☹ @WoomyNNYes

That does seem normal under that sort of lighting.

Weird but that certainly doesn't look like a Switch of any kind...?

@1UP_MARIO Did you take that photo? Looks like a Switch Lite to me. The regular Switch doesn't do that, but I can see light from the back of my tv, because they need venting. What I see in that pic looks like it could be normal.

@WoomyNNYes no. I think the poster had problems uploading the pic so I re-uploaded it. Seems normal to me but others might be able to offer more help with the image posted.

Take it back to where you bought it from and ask them about it. This is under Warranty and others on here shouldn't be asking you to do anything to it til it clears Warranty support help from NIN or the Retailer you bought it from.
