I have some money to spend on the eshop and I'm a bit overwhelmed. I already have BOTW, Mario odyssey, SF2, Fifa...essentials imo. I actually love sf2 (thought I'd say this in light of how much hate it gets) but there's so many indie gems I don't know where to start??? Owlboy, Mulaka, fe, sonic mania, Celeste. So many choices. I think my switch is having an identity crisis because I want to have it to play AA and AAA games but I'm ending up playing indies id rather play on 3ds. Then there's games like yooka laylee and the escapists 2. I have a varied interest in games and love zelda like games and also a good Metroidvania. I don't want to fork out for xenoblade because the combat looks super complicated.

Any tips on good games???

The problem with indie games is that they're designed with personality and preference being the center focus, so it's not whether or not they're good or not, but how much they appeal to each person on an individual scale (because the question of "good" becomes more subjective) This is the opposite of AAA games which have the money to include something for everyone and hit a large audience base who then support further big titles financially. TL;DR, depending on what games you like will determine how effective recommendations are for you.

EDIT: Oops, just noticed you said you like Zelda and Metroidvanias

At any rate, there's a recommendations thread already in the stickies. I would advise asking there first.

Stay safe, kids: Make sure to save frequently during multiplayer, and always use a stylus!

Whenever I'm on the fence about an indie, I add it to my watch list and I either remove them at some point if I lose interest or download them when they're on sale.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
