Topic: Metro Redux

@CTmatic I don't want to sound condescending, and it sounds like you've played it before so probably know the game better than I, but when it's dark it's supposed to be dark.

I've been playing mostly on TV because I've been using gyro controls, but I thought in response to your post I would purposefully check out tabletop mode.

I'm at the chapter called 'Cursed', holed up in a tunnel with a few other geezers, monsters attacking us. Where the men are positioned there's fire and light and everything is fine for vision. But to explore the tunnel you need to evade detection by the monsters, so I've snuck out on to the rail track where it's almost completely dark. There the monsters don't see me and I can creep along undetected. Even without any aid I can make out which direction I'm heading, but if I really want to look I can use a night scope I have equipped.

In my opinion, this game is awesome and right up my street because I love sneaking around. If I stay in the light the monsters attack me and I burn through all my ammo.

So yeah it's meant to be dark - and it's better because of that, more immersive. If you could just whack the screen brightness up so you could see everything clearly you'd be undoing what I think the developers have tried to achieve.

Maybe stealth and realism isn't your cup of tea, but the game doesn't deserve a bashing because of that. To me these dark parts of the game are awesome.

No, I get what you’re saying, but “parts that are supposed to be dark” is not at all what I’m saying. I’m talking pitch black where even the lighter and flashlight don’t help. I’ve searched 3 different webpage forums and plenty of people said the same.

I watched a clip on PS4 and the darkness was still dark as it should be but not flat out pitch black. I get it though, it’s a Switch port. There are always downgrades and I’m ok with that. @gcunit
