The Australian rating notes "online interactivity", so make of that what you will. Bear in mind that it is a catch-all term that also accounts for content updates, Miiverse (when that was still around), and the like.
Didn't Mario Party games do online multiplayer before already? I haven't kept up with the mains ones after the GCN games. (well, besides Island Tour...>_>)

There's also a mode that they haven't commented on yet. Which is why I said the 5 mini-game mode is the only known online mode there may, or may not be others. We just don't know yet. Probably not, but they haven't revealed everything.
Even a set of 5 mini-games, I can see a lot of ragequits in the future. I think it'd be interesting if River Survival mode was playable online, but that would require good voice chat I'd think.
@ReaderRagfish It'll be pretty lame if they still expect me to get together with all my buddies and play this game in the same room like we're all in grade school.
