So my brother was playing Skyrim today on Switch, and he accidentally held the home button too long and... it brought up a sub-menu like some sort of smartphone control panel. My brother was shocked by this. I was shocked by this. We both just kind of stared at it dumbfounded for a second.
Did everyone else already know about this? Has this always been a feature or did it come in an update? If in an update, when did it sneak in there? And if Switch ever gets a web browser can we toss a Google search bar in there?
Not sleep mode. I was surprised by the menu that allows me to quickly adjust volume, brightness, sleep, and airplane mode while I’m in a game by just holding the home button down for a couple seconds.
It’s neat. I feel dumb for taking almost a year to discover it. I really hope they expand some of the functions there, but I’m happy to toggle airplane mode more quickly than backing out and jumping into the menus the hard way.
Yep this is how I always power off my Switch on the TV. Also I think it's worth mentioning that you can also hold the home button on the controller to power your Switch on. I always do it and it works like a charm because I don't have to reach under my TV to press the power button, instead I just grab my pro controller and I'm all set.
