Since we have upcoming Gameboy and Gameboy Advance titles coming to the Nintendo Switch Online, I think we should use this to discuss any titles that you may want to see in the future, cheat codes and tips for current and future titles and also tips and tricks to get the most out of the games.
I'll start off with Golden Sun: When prompted to enter a new name for Isaac, press Select(3). Enter a new name for Isaac, and you can now enter a new name for Gerald, Ivan, and Mia. Press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Select to enter new names for the other remaining characters.
I'd like to see these titles particularly on virtual console:
Rugrats In Paris - GBC
Rugrats Totally Angelica - GBC
Rugrats Castle Capers - GBA
Beetlejuice - GB
If we see any 3rd party titles on the virtual console it will be a miracle... 🤦‍♀️ Glad I kept my GB, GBC, & GBA collection of games from back then personally~ 🤦‍♀️👍
As I mentioned previously in a different article discussion if there’s any hope of Mother 3 coming to the West NSO is pretty much the last chance. If Mother 3 is again a Japan only release on NSO then barring any remake or future re-release I don’t think we will ever see an official release overseas.
Oddly enough, Deja Vu II was ported to the NES but never released officially.
It was then ported to the Gameboy as part of the Deja Vu I & II bundle.
If Nintendo made that available on NSO I could be tempted to sub for a month...maybe.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The original, pixel-art GBA one! Square Enix has refused to rerelease the GBA version, and NSO would be the perfect place. I really loved this game growing up.
FFTactics Advance, obviously. Another title that Square Enix has shied away from remastering/rereleasing, which would make it another ideal candidate for NSO. It's hard enough to get Square Enix to port the original FFTactics as it is, so Tactics Advance would be perfect on NSO.
Ha, localized Binding Blade is as likely as Mother 3 being localized: never happening. At least NA gets Blazing Blade at least. Sacred Stones would be nice too, never played it.
Screw localizing Binding, I want Shadow Dragon, Mystery Of The Emblem, and Genealogy localized for super nes/nes onilne. I can’t read Japanese and those games are text heavy.
I'd like to see some obscure/hidden gems or otherwise interesting games. It's pretty clear Square and Capcom are more interested in releasing their retro collections on their own terms, but there's a ton of interesting games on those platforms that are usually overlooked in favor of big names. Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on GBC is inferior in every way to the PC version (interestingly it's actually a port of 3, not 2), but it's a curio. Pokemon TCG is coming, but Magi-Nation has more of a plot. And then there's some old Japan only releases like Gameboy Wars. GB Wars 3 was the only one to feature IFVs, which are pretty common on modern battlefields.
Donkey Kong 94(GB)
Metal Gear Ghost Babel(GBC)
Sonic Advance series(GBA)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance(GBA)
Final Fight One(GBA)
things Fire Emblem, Metroid, Golden Sun, I fully expect to show up. Bring the 5 I mentioned and I'll be more than satisfied, especially Ghost Babel since that never showed up on the Wii U/3DS VC
