Hi, I wasn't sure what forum this would go in, and the actual recommendations forum hasn't been used in a while, so I made this. Hope no one minds. I'm looking for a good, difficult game to play next, but don't know which. If it helps you , my favourite games are:
(Tied): 1: Bug Fables and Hollow Knight(Not because of any fondness for cartoon bugs, I just really liked these games, particularly the combat, writing and the medal/charm systems)
(Tied): 2: TotK and Pokemon Legends
3: Luigi's Mansion 3 (Did not finish, my partner for co-op lost interest )
4: Smash Ultimate. (Have not tried World of Light and am uninterested in doing so)
I'd like something that's not too goth/grimdark, and that at least lets you disable blood.
I can't play anything with nudity or strong language, either.

Mario Odyssey (I didnt' want another 3D mario, but this game is actually amazing, revolutionary)
I actually love Splatoon 3 single player - and Splatoon 2 single player + Octo Expansion (also single player)
Disregard if too mature, what about Batman Arkham Asylum, Arkham City (reviews say Arkham Knight is buggy, unplayable)
@sunny63 I'd probably say Breath of the Wild as the previous poster did.... IMO it is 'overall' a better experience than TOTK, in the sense that BOTW is a more contained/streamlined game with less bloat and a more concise sense of direction (for an open world game anyway).
You also cite Hollow Knight, which is great... but reasonably challenging. BOTW is less aggressive than HK, but both are great games.

I would highly recommend you check out 'Tunic' - which in someways is like a top-down cross between Zelda/HollowKnight. Difficult but not frustrating, overall a really really great game
Update: I got astral chain from the library and I'm really enjoying that. I might try your games too, but for now I'll play that. It's really really good, I might buy my own copy.
