As one of the dozens of people who does not hate Contra: Rogue Corps, I am excited for this. It's being developed by Wayforward. Which is...not a seal of quality. They have more misses (Bakugan, Trollhunters, etc) than hits (Shantae, The Mummy Demastered, etc). So I'm cautiously optimistic.

It's nice to see more remakes that aren't literally the same game. Despite recent games trying to prove me wrong, I'm genuinely more interested in a remake that actually notably changes an older game rather than make its look and feel modern and nothing else (also Contra is very short, so they almost have to add to it).
Rogue Corps if I remember was supposed to be helmed by the team that did Hard Corps. So now WayForward gets to try and redeem the franchise? They did a good job on 4 so I expect it to be good. Then again this seems to be a remix of classic stages instead of actual new levels.
