Hi guys,

Anyone here playing this, or already beat it? I haven’t put a lot of time in it yet from being on Destiny 2 tons, but I’ve played 3-4 sessions for around 45min to 1.5hrs each about and I still haven’t gotten my ship yet. 🤷‍♂️

I got bored with almost all AC games except Black Flag so I immediately wanted to give AC3 a-go knowing it had naval combat/traveling in it to.

Is there much less naval combat in AC3 over Black Flag or have I just not put enough time in it yet?

Thanks!

@CTmatic AC:3 isn’t nearly as sailing-centric as Black Flag, unfortunately. The naval sections can be fun, but it doesn’t have the same amount of focus. IIRC, all the missions are launched from the Homestead, and ‘dump’ the Aquila at the start of said missions.

It's telling when I didn't enjoy doing the obligatory naval mission at all in AC3 but absolutely loved pillaging ships in Black Flag.

To answer your question: yes, there are some naval missions, but the game isn't ocean/ship-centric like its successor. I did enjoy building up the actual Homestead in my playthrough.

Thanks! And shoot... wonder if I should just trade this in then. I thought it had a lot of sailing to. Well at least the option to get on your ship and travel wherever you want once you progress enough in the campaign.@HobbitGamer

Assassin's Creed III is a fairly decent game overall, though I wouldn't call it the strongest game in the series. However, the gameplay and what's on offer is a lot like the other earlier series entries. If you didn't care for them, then this one probably isn't for you either.

If you're not sure, just do what I do: give it a little more time before you make up your mind.
