Always good to see more JRPGs land on the system, but as I found Lydie & Suelle to be my least favorite retail Switch purchase thus far, I'll probably skip out.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Awesome. I'm afraid that these may not make it to the West though.

Tecmo's 3 Warriors rereleases never made it out of Japan either.

Honestly, me too. I wanted to like it, and the crafting was fun, but it just didn't grab me. It didn't help that the twin leads are the most annoying characters I've ever had to play as in an RPG. This was my first Atelier experience and it just might be my last.

Just as I suspected. The three Warriors ports never made it out of Japan and I doubt that these will either.

The games are confirmed as only containing Japanese on the cartridge.

I was all ready to import the Premium boxset, but I will not be placing an order in light of this.

Frankly, I think Tecmo are crazy for not bringing these games to the West. They're not exactly bestsellers in Japan, but surely they would sell in higher numbers internationally?

There's a chance NIS America would publish these in the west.

But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

@Magician I don’t think there is a chance of that happening. The Atelier series is owned and published by Koei Tecmo, and I don’t think they are going to give the rights to another publisher. If these games are released in the west, it’s going to be published by Koei Tecmo.

Both Atelier Lydie & Suelle and Nights of Azure 2 received LEs from NIS America.

So you're assumption isn't entirely accurate.

@Magician : NIS America still lists Tecmo as the publisher. I can only assume that NIS had exclusive rights to sell those limited editions (as Tecmo would have rightfully suspected that they would not have sold in high enough numbers to warrant a brick-and-mortar retail release given the limited commercial appeal of these games).
