Topic: Illumination Mario Movie

I'm counting down the hours now... I'm really curious how much they're actually gonna show.

I could honestly see it being a very short trailer that ends with Chris Pratt saying something to reveal the voice. No matter what I don't think it'll be very long.

I have a feeling it's going to be a pretty long trailer. I would take a teaser, though.

@Dev9417 well having the characters speak in full sentences is a massive change to begin with.

@Dev9417 Yeah I did see that, the logo and Peach got leaked so if you don't wanna see that be careful. I will say I like what I've seen of all these designs, hopefully they're real.

I have looked into all of the leaks and I will say that Peach looks really good, at least in my opinion.

Even in the leaks, which I must say I find quite odd, there isn't a single Luigi design. It's called The Super Mario Bros. movie, so uhh where's the better brother?

I kinda hope they treat Luigi like they do in the Mario and Luigi games.

Less than an hour to go, ngl, I'm looking forward to hearing how Jack Black's Bowser sounds, lol.

Whelp, half an hour to go, see you guys on the other side! I'm personally hoping we get to hear Charlie Day's Luigi, that's the casting I've been most excited for myself.

The trailer was pretty good.

Wow, well I was way more impressed with that trailer than I thought I was gonna be. The animation looks incredible. Not too keen on the humor that was shown but the voice acting seemed good too.

Yeah Jack Black seems like a great match for Bowser.

Ok, that looked better than I expected. Don't know if I'll ever get used to Mario and Toad's voice, but Bowser does sound like how I imagine Bowser would sound like when talking. Better than I was expecting. Hopefully they'll do another trailer, I want to see more.

The real question remains, when are we getting that game with the Super Mario 64 penguins?

Based on the trailer, it seems better than I thought it would be.

To be honest, I didn't think it was gonna be a disaster or lowest common denominator trash, just incredibly meh. But it seems like a genuinely decent attempt to put Mario into an animated story without compromising it at all.

Now also to be fair, I wasn't blown away either. I'm very indifferent to the two major jokes in the trailer, and it seems as standard as a Mario plot tbh. There are many better animated movies to watch, even modern 3d ones. But it seems decent, and with how low the bar is, I'll take it. I do really appreciate they were willing to do a fairly serious trailer instead of being "OMG SO WACKY" every 5 seconds.

I am shocked, stunned and flabbergasted to say....that I actually really liked that. Gorgeous animation, interesting enough premise and some absolutely hilarious voices all come together for me to say: this actually ain't that bad. Cannot wait for April now to be honest (which is a sentence I never though I'd say)!

Also, Kamek's voice immediately reminded me of N.Gin from Crash Bandicoot so that also gets a plus in my book.

Jack blacks voice fits boweser soo well! And kemek sounded amazing. I didn’t know how toad would sound, but he sounds great as well. He animation is top notch just as expected.

And Mario, I kinda, gotta hear more, because he sounded different with he vary last line at the end of the trailer, but at the start, he sounded like christ Pratt, but is hat a bad thing?

Even if let’s say, no one likes Christ voice, we still have the rest of the amazing cast, and it’s look so good so far, so, yeah, I’m hyped! And like everyone else, pretty surprised that I feel this way.

Just went to Twitter to see the reaction afterwards and I don't think even Twitter itself was ready for what was shown.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say 7,500 views does not equal 15k likes.

Seems to be a prequel of sorts for the series. That’ll be interesting.

I'm really, really glad that Koji Kondo is working with a movie composer. Definitely one of my biggest wishes for this movie was for it to have classic game music.

Meh, as a proof on concept or a statement of intent I thought it was abit poor. I didn't get a feel of who Mario is, I get to see the grander picture of what the movie is about, it didn't feel lavishly Mario-ish either and I thought it jokes were rubbish. It looks pretty enough although the characters themselves could be better.
