Topic: Sonic Colors Ultimate

Has anybody else had the problem where after you beat the metal sonic races, the game always crashes?

I've been playing Sonic Colors Ultimate on v1.0 (so I can experience the glitches firsthand), and without patches I can attest to there being issues with the game sometimes crashing when I complete a level.
It'll go to a black screen instead of saving and loading either the level or the stage select, resulting in lost progress.

It's a really sloppy port with a lot of technical issues, the core game is still very enjoyable past those issues but the game shouldn't have shipped in this state.

@RupeeClock Yea, this is very true, been really enjoying the game so far and really have not experienced a lot of issues with it. The only big issue that is making me pretty frustrated is the metal sonic race on asteroid coaster. I have tried doing that race over 10 different times and it will always crash. This one annoyance is keeping me from getting hundred percent

I decided to try out the Rival Rush on Asteroid Coaster after triggering those infamous visual glitches, and was able to beat it without crashing strangely enough.

Maybe it's an issue present after updating the game?

@Boodog I have one were he falls off and I can't finish the damn thing.

@RupeeClock Interesting, thank you for sending a video. (I also appreciate the warning!) I have never considered the update being the problem, might end up deleting the game off my switch and redownload it without the update to see if it works.

@Snatcher Have had a few glitches like that happen to me too, it's one of the most annoying things having to start the level over even though it wasn't your fault.

I've experienced multiple glitches where Sonic falls through the environment during scripted events, like at the end of the Motobug section of Starlight Carnival Act 1 repeatedly throwing me through solid geometry right before the checkpoint, or the very beginning of Aquarium Park Act 1.

This game is a hot mess, but it's also my fault for keeping it on version 1.0.0.

It it still worth getting?

@zool Ya I guess, A lot of it has been patched, but maybe wait like idk, a month or two more? its not going to do ya much but, hey, If you want it just to play through it with no plan to 100% at all, then its worth it.
