I can't figure out how I'm suppose to open the cover with the stylus. I always open it with the tip of my screw driver.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

I used my fingernails to pop it open

Not sure if your new to the new 3DS but make sure you have loosened the 2 screws first then on the sides of the back cover should be a little lib for you to pull the back cover off with the stylus.
