I am on a tight budget but I REALLY want to play pokemon again... The last product I had was a nintendo ds (first ever one)
but the last pokemon game i bought was pokemon ruby I have searched the whole house up and down and i cant find it anywhere so ive looked into buying a nintendo 3ds...but i cant really afford that so my question is what 3ds should I get and I will also be buying pokemon x
should i get a nintendo 2ds is it as good or would it be better to get a 3ds??

If you want to take the game with you on the go, well then I think you sould buy the regular 3ds. But if you just going to play at home then you should buy the 2ds. Because the 2ds is not as portable as the 3ds. But remember, if you are on a low budget then just buy the regular 3ds. No XL or "new" version, just the first regular.
