G4 will be re-branded as the Esquire Channel in early 2013. Apparently some "new programming is already in development and will focus on the genres that other male-centric channels, such as Spike, have failed to provide for men. They include: cooking, travel, fashion and, in keeping with tradition, some gaming as well."

The only quality original content that has ever existed on G4 is Reviews on the Run.
I actually watch the show quite a bit. It's one of the few TV shows that I do watch.
I find the hosts of the show are actually likeable and funny.
Not like those tools on X-Play or AOTS. Words cannot describe how terrible Adam Sessler, Olivia Munn, etc. are.

Clearly, someone has never watched Cinematech, Cheat! (before it was turned into an X-Play segment), Anime Unleashed, Icons (later renamed to Game Makers), or old X-Play (when they didn't try to take themselves too seriously).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I have to give Adam Sessler some credit. I did like watching him on Gamespot TV wayyyyyyy back when the channel was called TechTV. Then they became Extended Play which was ok, and then X-Play which I rarely watched. I could not stand AOTS, though.
Honestly, this isn't really that unexpected a change, the channel had little to do with video games for months. And the quality of much of their gaming programming wasn't that good in general, so I'm not sure I'd even really miss it.
