So following years of slowly devloving from the video game channel to a sad spike TV wannabe the channel is done. Next year the channel will be rebranded as a GQ style channel. Probably the only show that will surive will be attack of the show.

Suxks but if done right the new channel could be pretty awesome.

If it's like Spike, I highly doubt it'll be great...

Since G4 lost credibility with the gaming community years ago, I can't really care about this one way or another.

Cool story, ... wait, no. This story isn't cool; it's just NBC trying to muscle into an already overcrowded demographic on a (slowly) dying medium in an effort to make money. I guess it's more proof that video game culture isn't terribly compatible with the tv, even though the 2 both use the same equipment...

G4 was still a thing?

I stopped watching G4 long ago. I miss the days when X-Play was humorous, Cheat! was it's own show, ICONS was around. What I miss most though was Cinematech, that show was hilarious back in the day.

I miss Code Monkeys and laughing at their terrible reviews. I only watched it in 2008-2009, though.

Good, G4 has always been crap for many reasons other than the fact that they love to hate on Nintendo for literally no reason, calling it a kids gaming console with kid games like Skyward Sword. That made me sick. Don't get me wrong, I never watched it, but that news got to my ears pretty quick.

The market for a G1 style channel isn't overcrowded and please don't say spike. It would be like Hypebeast,uncrate, GQ, and dappered all rolled into one with a few genre shows and still have e3 coverage.

Oh, although it wasn't video games, they also had Anime Unleashed back when they were good. That was a neat program.

Normally this is the part where I come up with a complex and discrete way of saying "you're just being a fanboy", possibly by explaining that there's no way you could really say that they were terrible for so many ways if you never watched it, but in this case, I'd rather say I envy you for never watching it in the first place.

All I remember about G4 was Code Monkeys and they use to show anime. The only one I can remember is Read Or Die though. I couldn't care less this channel is gone.

I hope Attack of The Show Survives, it's the only thing I still watch on G4. Of course, if the new permanent co-host stinks I might not mind.

I remember when Code Monkeys was new, lol. I must be one of the few people who watched the channel when it was truely good.

On Anime Unleashed, they showed Read or Die, Dual!! Parallel Trouble Dimension (something like that), and some other mech show (although I can't remember the name).

There was Icons, a show in which they highlighted the history of a famous video game series. It was later renamed to Game Changers, when they took the focus off of games (the Icons name was thrown onto a short lived show where they talk about pop culture icons).

X-Play used to soley review games, and they review a lot more games than they do now. It was also more humorous, with characters such as "Drunk Link". Now, they only focus on the big western games.

Cinematech was a half hour of humorous/actiony video game clips. I loved when they showed clips from random Japanese games.

Cheat! was it's own show. Revealed Easter eggs, tips, and cheats for games.

One summer, they even had a special called Video Game Vixens. I was 13 or 14 at the time, so I loved that, lol.
