Topic: First Impressions: Hints Hunter

The best way I can think to describe this game is a cross between Professor Layton and WarioWare Touched. The interface and visual style are well done, making it a shame you'll probably only spend one 1-2 hour playthrough looking at them. As usual in games like this, once you've solved all the puzzles, there's no reason to revisit. And although some of the puzzles are kind of clever, for the most part you're left poking the screen blindly searching for what you're expected to interact with.

You beat the game already?

Yep, in an embarassingly bad 1,413 clicks (how the game keeps score). If I had gaming friends, I could see myself sharing it with them and getting more enjoyment from it by watching and comparing their puzzle solving abilities with mine, but as it is I deleted it upon completion.
If anyone here gets stuck on a puzzle though, I'd be glad to give a hint. There are some real head-scratchers in there.

Was it worth it? Cause the game did look appealing. Almost got it.

I found the difficulty to be too uneven, with the challenging puzzles being few and far between. There are 59 puzzles total, with maybe 5 or so that really made you think. The others seem more like Micro Games from Wario Ware, that can be completed in seconds. It's hard to say it wasn't worth it, when all it cost me was the price of a rental, but if I could go back and get something else instead I probably would.

So it was kinda like Don't Cross the Line, then?

I haven't played DCtL, but from what I can see Hints Hunter has much more variety. Every stage is a new puzzle, with its own gameplay mechanics.

I take it you'd appreciate the game more if it were only $2?

Not necessarily appreciate it more, but I'd have no problem recommending it at that price. Even at 5$, you could do a lot worse, it's the abundance of puzzles you can just breeze through, and the lack of replay inherent in the genre that sinks it for me.

Need help with 1-10 RADER not sure where to find the key from N,E,W,S and after that how many levels do i have to do so i can save the game and not start again from 1-7 SHEEP?

I got stuck on that one for a while too. You just have to observe the red arrow, and go whichever way it's pointing.
I'm not too sure about the save situation though. It could be that once you use the 3 or so you start with, there's no way to get more.

I need help on puzzle 4-8 Transporter.... I got the moving conveyor belt and what looks to be a ramp in place, but the rope, crane scooper and round thing is not finding its rightful place. Any hints will be appreciated big time! Thanks!

Don't laugh, but I am so close to the end and stuck on the Magnet . I get the ball up and it bumps the top and falls back down. I have not had my DSi that long that is why I am just now playing that game. I thought it would be a cute game. I was not all that impressed, but I am want to finish the game. Thanks

Error Supply or someone else, I know its distasteful and i should be asking simply for a "hint" , but can I have the answer for 4-10 Sum? This puzzle has gotten under my skin. It's evil. And i offer 7 cans of mountain dew whiteout. Actually I wanted to pm Error or someone to ask but I dont see private messaging choices in this forum O_o;;. Ty Sirs and ma'ams. Fun game though! But SUM IS EVIL xD
