@Ryu_Niiyama Basically, Motion Twin (MT) left the development of Dead Cell to Evil Empire (EE). As the article said, EE did a lot for the game and still had a lot content planned, up to at least end of 2024. But MT ignored everything that was planned and just scrapped everything without consulting EE, supposedly to leave room for their new game. Old dev is pissed because MT was known for being a particular kind of team where decision was taken together (called a "scope") and now they're acting just like your basic corporation.

I completely disliked the story for first two game, it felt rushed : for example, the intro/exposition in the first is ridiculous : "Hello, we're in a world were people have power and this organization is the bad guy, now go play." The whole thing was cliche and predictable, you could predict the few plot twist miles ahead and there was barely any charisma/interest in the majority of the character (except a few one) beside their design (Inti still rock with their art, animation and music). It's probably because I'm someone who discovered Inti's work with Megaman Zero so I have some high standard with them...
Beside that, the rest is very good art, animation, music, mechanics, various design, etc)....Except their UI, who's trash visually if you're not playing on DS (on other plateform it just an ultra pixellated upscale).

The new game seem cool ! More story (altough they made again the over the top exposition "you have power and the bad guy is killin everyone else but no one seem to bat an eye", ever heard of subtlety ?), smooth gameplay, etc.
@bluedogrulez You don't need toy to play. The respawn mechanic only mean you can respawn but only with a different ship than the previous one, whetever it's a physical one or not.
Other than that, as someone who got his hand on the game in the Japan Expo at Paris, I can say the control (and the game) are quite fun. I love the fact that you can put the weapon backward and the game recognize it (meaning you will shoot the gun backward...). My personal problem is when the ship is in "crawling mode" on the ground. There's no different animation so it seem a bit...off.

They made a lot of change apparently to have a better experience. I'm as concerned as you when we speak about some smartphone port but they seem to have made the right choices to give us something worth it. They communicated a list of these changes :
1.) Full premium experience without any sign of micro transactions, focusing on the narrative driven story campaign
2.) Challenging missions laid out across a story campaign that’s divided into 3 Acts
3.) Exclusive new Game content added with Act 3: 6 additional locations, 5 story missions and 3 “distraction” missions
4.) Completely reworked upgrade system that’s tied to your story progression
5.) 1080p/60 fps docked, 720p/60fps handheld mode, which looks and plays rad
6.) More open game structure, meaning you can jump from one location to another via wormholes, access the galaxy map during gameplay, fly to the Manticore (your mothership) to change equipment etc.
7.) Seamless transition to exploration mode after you’ve beaten a mission in that location
8.) Intuitive User Interface purpose built for the Nintendo Switch including in-game HUD, navigation in the hangar, galaxy map, mission overview, player profile etc.
9.) Reworked controls that work naturally with the Joy-Cons/Pro Controller
10.) Utilisation of Switch-specific features like HD rumble and accelerometer
11.) 3 different difficulty levels selectable in the main menu and anytime during gameplay
12.) Capture and share cool screenshots via the Switch’s capture function
13.) Additional options like active/passive auto alignment of your ship and aim assist
@bimmy-lee It may seem strange but... Give a shot to the first before (if you can). I personnaly prefered it. The 2 is 100% better in term of gameplay but I've found the general "over the top" action, the character and the general pacing more fun and entertaining in the first.
And if you still don't like it well...It can happen, no need to force it
@bimmy-lee This shouldn't stop you to try Bayonetta, especially on easy / normal difficulty. Doing good combo isn't the key to win, it's the timing to dodge. If you know how to dodge, you can mash your button all the day
Unpopular opinion : I found this game to be overrated in the end. Graphic were georgous, gameplay was smooth but the way they managed the narrative's pace was a big throw-off. You have very intriguing and mysterious things in the trailer/intro, then nearly nothing during the whole, then only a few more thing at very end. There's no gradual understanding, it felt...uneven.
