I don't think simply adding up the scores for each category does the trick. For example, does a kart's mini turbo score carry as much weight as it's top speed score? In other words, not all scores carry the same meaning. So, maybe speed is more important than traction. But simply adding up the scores wouldn't show that.
I don't know which category should carry the most weight, but some scaling should be done.
Also, speaking of scaling, the scores are not out of 0 or 1. So, to get a better sense of the true score you would have to covert the score from a base of .75 to a base of one to get a better understanding of the scores.
