@uhhhhhhhh That's exactly the point. Instead of planning out a truly special event. They just threw together this half-assed event at the last minute.
If they're going to do it, they should do it right. They need a qualifying event in each of the most populous 20-25 major metropolitan areas, as just a start. With just 8 qualifying events, making it accessible to maybe 10% of the US population, this loses all credibility as a World Championship.
