@DanteSolablood #13.... How was the PS2 stronger on paper? PS2 had less RAM, slower clock speed on its cpu, slower clock speed on it's gpu. 40Mb Ram on the gamecube vs 36Mb in the PS2 CPU: 486Mhz GC, 300Mhz PS2 GPU: 162Mhz vs 148Mhz
The gamecube was clearly more powerful than the ps2 at the time. The XBox was another story.. with a 733Mhz CPU, 64Mb Ram, 233Mhz GPU, it definitely looked the more powerful machine on paper.
On topic, 4gb is on par with my current PC. It must be getting old But yeah.. it looks ok. Sales and 3rd party support are key... and tbh RAM doesn't figure in either of those things really. I do think that this relatively low figure means we are more likely to see shovelware 3rd party support than AAA.... but then that would be considering the switch as a home console. As a hybrid we have to look at it as a handheld as well, which only has 132Mb Ram. so this is HUGELY powerful as a handheld. Perhaps western studios will regard this console as a handheld device they can back?
Actually theory means the exact same thing in science. The whole premise of science is to try an discover new things, scientists try out different things and extrapolate theories as to why they got the results they got... Dogmatic science tries to tell us that scientific theory is in fact scientific fact....that just isn't true. Pragmatic science will assume current scientific theories are facts, just because that is the only way to find new theories. Essentially the whole of science is just an educated guess.
I wouldn't mind if they rated your connection and put the weakest together...
As for the lag, I've had it both ways, judging by my victims on several occassions I have received a lag boost, equally I have on occassion suffered. It's why I don't play ranked very often, the losses count in that mode, while in regular it really doesn't matter so much, I just play and enjoy. When I see japanese names I tend to wait for the inevitable disconnect ( usually in the last few seconds or just before the results screen) so I've not been playing so much recently - a lot of those japanese players go to bed late/wake up super early, so there's only the smallest of Japanese free hours available!
Oh and on their general skill level, I hadn't noticed, in fact I find them to be weaker... although in the afternoon the quality of seemingly western players seems to drop a lot, not sure why... maybe we are morning people?
