have been thinking about 3D World for a while now (and to a lesser degree Pikmin 3 too) but didn't get them yet because of all the other games I want to play or am already playing (god knows Smash & Splatoon sure can eat up a lot of your free time ).
but if this comes to Europe, I'm getting both 3D World and Pikmin 3 instantaneously
It's seriously annoying to see how many people think they'rr being terribly enlightened with the "oh you're just an entitled brat" stuff. that in itself makes it obvious that you are unable to comprehend the bigger picture. if this was about entitlement, we would be pissed off simply because of the fact there was no real Metroid game presented. however the fact there is no real Metroid is not the problem. the fact that this game, which might be fine in itself, exists , severely misusing the name Metroid, is what the problem is. the message that can be read between the lines of nintendo s e3 presentation is what the problem is. and that would be, if you're unable to figure it out yourself "F you real fans and long time supporters, Nintendo is fully embracing the corporate way and putting marketing schemes & profit before the games themselves". but I guess some of you are sadly unable to see beyond Reggie's "the message of this digital event is >transformation<" PR talk. but no "entitled" is such a big and smart word and it obviously explains the situation into detail so let's stick to that. well goid for you. you know what they say, "ignorance is bliss"
I think that anyone who considers the reactions to this over blown simply doesn't get it. The game itself might be an ok product, that's not the issue, the issue is Nintendo's policy and brand management. The devs from Next Level games that worked on the project don't deserve the hate, it's Nintendo's higher ups who make this sort of choices that do. If this wasn't a Metroid game it would be fine. Why is it even labeled Metroid? To cash in on the franchise? To test the franchise's commercial value? It's disrespectful towards the legacy of it's creators and towards the fans aswell. But cheap cash-ins seam to be where Nintendo is going after this e3. Just look at the way they're trying to shove more Amiibo to us with that Animal Crossing minigame title. And even Zelda. Dressing up Link in different outfits? Is it because that kind of thing sells in Japan so they thought "Hey why not, let's put that shit in Zelda too". So taking all this into account , the reaction is not overblown -it's a wake up call Nintendo desperately needs for their own good. Stop making cheap twists & gimmicks and abuseing your IP's and get back to making quality games or many of your loyal fans will be gone before you know it and who'll be left to support you then?

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Entitled Fury
time to start playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. might help ease the trauma the reveal of Federation Force inflicted during these past days
