I think people forget that imitating Nintendo might be not such a great thing. They have continuously lost market share and sell less and less consoles in absolute numbers. People who write columns that the Switch outsells the Wii forget that they also sold the 3DS/DS at the same time and all Switch model sales combined still don't reach any Wii + DS/3DS sales in comparable periods. Let's not even talk about Game Cube before or Wii U after that. God of War, Uncharted, Spiderman, Last of Us sell in huge numbers, our beloved franchises like Zelda or Metroid do not. So Sony already has some very good exclusives on their hands, maybe only comparable on the Nintendo side with Mario Kart, Pokemon or Smash, at least in sales numbers. We as gamers tend to forget that what we consider to be an excellent game is not necessarily what business people mean.
Also, I think what Phil Spencer means when he says that CoD is staying on PS is that they will bring Game Pass to PS. That way they can be on any platform, but still push their exclusive platform, which is XCloud. I don't think Microsoft sees the future in Xbox, it is just a vehicle for Game Pass and XCloud, which is where they think all the money will be in 10 years from now.
