I urge anyone who buys Hellblade to watch the making of the game from the menu. They actually talked to patients suffering from psychosis and incorporated what they see and hear. Really cool stuff.
FFXI is my favorite game of all time. I played it off and on for over 15 years. No game has ever forced smart, competent players to cooperate like FFXI.
The only reason I bought the game initially, is because it was included with the HDD for the PS2. I had no intention of playing FFXI. I just wanted the HDD. I saw that the game had a free 30 day trial, so I decided to give it a shot. I had no idea what I had got myself into.
I met so many great friends that I still speak to today after 15+ years. In 2007 (when the game was in it’s prime), I was in financial need and ended up selling my original character for $1600. One of my biggest regrets ever! I did create an identical character a year later, and continued my adventures.
When FFXIV was announced, I was extremely excited. The initial release of that game was a disaster. SE shut it down and rebuild it into a decent game. It never did capture the feeling of FFXI, but I don’t know if any game could. I’ve been chasing that nostalgia ever since.
FFXI servers are very much still online, but the population is dwindling. The game is also a shell of it’s former self. Many adjustments were made to cater to the casual players. I can’t blame them after so long.
A lot of delusional Nintendo fans on here. I personally prefer buying physical for the Switch, but physical media in general is on it’s way out the door. I can see it drastically being reduced in the next five years, and completely eliminated in ten years. I seriously doubt many serious gamers are going to stop buying new consoles. This is coming from someone who has 300+ BDs and 50+ UHD BDs.
Please bring DQ X to the west! FFXI was the only MMO (at the time) in the other big SE RPG franchise and it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. Played it on and off for over a decade.
The level design, enemy design, lore, combat, and sense of accomplishment are second to none. Few games have so much thought put into the tiny details of the game. There is an entire story uncovered by finding a weapon on a corpse in a certain area. Everything has a purpose.

You had me at Lovecraft and Giger.
Re: Breath Of The Wild's Sequel Came From Having Too Many DLC Ideas, Aonuma Says
More enemy variety would be welcome. Probably my biggest complaint with the first game. Maybe the ability to repair weapons/shields as well.

@senorwoohoo Headphones don’t do the game justice. A good surround setup is a must!

Re: Feature: The Best Racing Games On Nintendo Switch
As much as I love Mario Kart, calling it the pinnacle racing game is a bit of a stretch with blue shells involved.

Would definitely add Salt and Sanctuary to this list.

Re: Reggie: Nintendo Would "Love" Red Dead Redemption 2 On Switch
Red Dead Redemption 2: Minecraft Edition would be about their only option.
Re: Deals: Get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Free When You Buy A Nintendo Switch From Select UK Stores
This bundle sold out everywhere in the US on Black Friday. It was available from the 4 biggest retailers. GameStop even threw in a $50 gift card.
Re: Nintendo Switch GameCube Adapter Delayed Until May 2019
It seems the controllers themselves are having a lot of drift and input issues. Check the Amazon reviews. Very disappointing.
