Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"

Tragic. Even with fancy new hardware, Nintendo can't make stable games.

I get that you're a Nintendo website, but a little journalistic integrity would be a nice. Because c'mon, you know that "fun and playability" don't compromise performance. See Clair Obscur, Super Meat Boy, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Ocarina of Time, Undertale...

And while "fun and playability" are not in any sense at odds with performance, fancy graphics **are** directly opposed to performance, which means that Nintendo prioritized fancy wooshy-woosh over performance.

Fun and playability don't reduce framerates. Badly optimized graphics result in choppy framerates. See Tears of the Kingdom, Echoes of Wisdom, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet.

I can't wait to see Nintendo stans anxious to buy a Switch 3 in 7 years for $900 because they are eager to play Donkey Kong Bananza at a stable framerate.
