I just find it baffling that Nintendo opted to make MiiVerse a web app on the 3DS. The Wii U is powerful enough that a web app makes sense, but MiiVerse runs so slow on the 3DS. They really should have made it a native app like the eShop.
I think this was the last 2D Harvest Moon that used pixel art instead of godawful pre-rendered sprites. It's probably worth getting just for that reason alone.
Seeing things like Panorama View almost has me convinced that the Wii U was originally intended to be a VR system and they were forced to make a last minute change to using a tablet because they needed to release early. Panorama View looks like a cute gimmick for the Gamepad but would have been a great tech demo of a VR headset.
The funny thing about this narrative is that it just isn't true. The average number of games bought per Wii is approximately the same as the PS3 and Xbox 360.
It really bugs me when people call their games "8 bit style" but are obviously using 32-bit color in their palettes, alpha channel effects, hundreds of active sprites, and occasionally have graphics that leak into using the full resolution of the screen instead of always using doubled pixels (sort of like the US Super Mario Bros. box art).
If you want to go for an 8 bit aesthetic, I'm all for it, but at least pretend to only be using effects that might have been achievable on a realistic 8 bit computer. Otherwise you're just being lazy.
Why can't they just use the ESRB ratings? I understand that ratings can be useful to parents, but there's no reason for every single country to have their own ratings system when they all measure basically the same thing! That's the stupidest part of all of this.

Re: Fit Meter Iwata Asks Outlines Panasonic Partnership and Moving Beyond Pedometers
Damn, it doesn't work for bicycling? I was looking forward to getting it.

That sounds just a little inflated.
Re: Investor Approval Rating For Satoru Iwata Drops To 77.26 Precent
If Iwata gets forced out, the next CEO will probably take Nintendo 3rd party. If that happens, Nintendo's days will be numbered.

Uh oh, I'm seeing another prolonged GeoHot-style legal battle in the near future.

Re: Interview: Meet Christopher Robin Miller - Voice Actor For Professor Layton
Wow, a voice actor that actually has played and liked the games that he worked on. That's pretty refreshing.
