As a life-long Sega fan, I loved getting to review this. I played through these games in my room and in arcades as a kid, so having them all in my pocket is a major treat.
@Peach64 I wasn't around for the WiiWare review of FAST Racing League, but I can tell you that any racing fan should pick up NEO. It's a game that I think has universal appeal for Wii U racing fans.
@Triple-Dragon I thought the same thing going in. That 16 tracks wouldn't be enough, or that I'd wear out, but I'm still enjoying the heck out of it! I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by how fun those tracks are.
I can't imagine what Shin'en would do with a full AAA budget.
@CapnKatz I'm speaking from my own experience. I've worked on a number of programming projects over the years, so the puzzles on offer felt a bit simple. For others with little or no programming experience, it'll last much longer, definitely.
The thing is, especially with games of this type it's hard to pin down how long it's going to take you, since more than most, it's really reliant on your skill level. Often times I found my first attempt would satisfy the secondary objectives in every level, and I wouldn't consider myself a professional programmer.
@Neko_Rukiafan Whoa, whoa, whoa! I absolutely love RPGs, but this one is middling at best. In fact I've got a few RPGs in my top 10 games of all time. The Phantasy Star series (pre-Online) changed my life.
I can't speak for my fellow Nintendo Life staff, but I promise you we don't all dislike RPGs
@Shiryu Nah. Working here at NintendoLife has been a great opportunity for me. I've always wanted to write about Nintendo stuff, but it's not my beat at other places, so I get to scratch that itch here.
@TheWPCTraveler Well, as I mentioned in the review, your mileage may vary. It really depends on how good you are at solving puzzles. For my play through of all eight chapters it took me about two hours. I was familiar with the previous release and had remembered my way around many of the levels.
If puzzles aren't quite your forte, it could take you seven to ten hours. It's all based on what kind of problem solver you are.
@ekreig Hi ekreig, indeed we are! Jungle Climber actually never popped up on my radar before I ran this review. I think it would've fared better with me back in '07, but it's still a fun distraction nonetheless.

Re: Review: Rakoo & Friends (Wii U eShop)
@Pod Sorry, I don't get to write the game info pages. That's for the higher-ups to fix, though I've shot them an email on that
