Re: Mini Review: Marble It Up! Ultra - A Fun Spin On A Super Monkey Ball-Style Platformer

PUNQ

@jfp LOL, the "greed" of the developer is the reason I never bought the first game and now they increase the price. Lovely. Marble It Up! never went beyond a brief small-time discount when it was first released many years ago.

They've got every right to value their product that high, but it's also the only reason why I never bought it. And since it never went of sale since then, it is in fact on the bottom of my 300 game Wish List, making it the game that's been the longest on there. Every other game I've ever wanted has had a significant sale.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 22nd)

PUNQ

Since the new SpongeBob Racing Season for Hot Wheels Unleashed just started, I'll be grinding that for a half hour a day for the next couple of months.

But my main game this weekend and next week will probable be The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Played for about three hours, which mainly has been the intro and tutorial, and I'm not really feeling it yet. Hopefully it'll grow on me once the story and action gets properly going.

PUNQ

Been playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes 1 all week, and will be trying to complete it during the weekend. Or as much as I can as some bugs from the old versions seems have joined the Switch versions. Unless someone can tell me how to get that Captain America cat of the Black Panther to follow me? Do I have to select the right character or something, because it will not follow me the standard "Press A" way.

Re: Review: Pinchcliffe Grand Prix - Surprisingly Charming Licensed Kart Racing

PUNQ

I think there is some confusion here. This isn't a straight port of the 2000 game. More like a modern refresh. The missing content refers to the mini-games, which in 2022 isn't very interesting. Typical mobile stuff with a cute coat of paint.

What this 2021 remake of the game has that the 2000 version doesn't have is that whole racing mode, and that's the selling-point here. Not the mini-games, which is there to kill off a few minutes here and there. The game is a racer now. You can finally race with the famous Flåklypa car Il Tempo Gigante!

Re: Review: Pinchcliffe Grand Prix - Surprisingly Charming Licensed Kart Racing

PUNQ

I actually got this for Christmas and played it last week, spending 16 hours with it. The film is in Norwegian's DNA and everyone has fond feelings of. And this game brings back a lot of those feelings, showing clips from the film and recreates others. However a lot of this is based on mini-games which in 2022 can be considered past their sell-by-date mobile games, only with a more polished and charming presentation. Each passes the time for 10-15 minutes before they've lose their appeal. But the big draw is the race portion. A decent enough cluncy racer which works, but won't impress rally gamers. The key attraction is that you can race the famous car from Flåklypa Grand Prix! For non-Norwegians that won't mean a thing, but as someone who had a model of that car as a kid, that was enough for me to spend hours racing through these Flåklypa tracks.

In the grand scheme of things I would only go 5/10 for non-Norwegians. A little higher if you grew-up with Flåklypa like we did.

PUNQ

After finishing Burly Men at Sea, FoxyLand, FoxyLand 2, Pinkman+ and Flåklypa Grand Prix during the week, The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf is my focus this weekend. Surprisingly competent 3D-platformer, similar to Super Mario Sunshine or a Luigi Mansion. They even made an effort with the presentation, so well above the average for a game based on a licensed.

Re: Review: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Still One Of The Best Lego Games

PUNQ

I've completed all the other Lego games on the Switch (except Lego World, which is not that kind of game). Spent a lot of time on Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, which was often a frustrating experience because of performance issues, so I'm happy to hear the 1st one is better.

I'm definitely getting it. The problem is a lot of regions are getting the Code In Box treatment, including my region here in Scandinavia. will wait until I get a physical version with cartridge.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th April (Europe)

PUNQ

After going berserk buying new eshop releases for weeks, this week was surprisingly tame. Did pre-order The Way Remastered and will try it tomorrow.

Other than that I dig myself a quiz from time to time, so I bought Party Trivia. It wasn't looking too impressive in the trailer, but I was thinking how could they mess-up a simple quiz game? Well...

1) I'm not sure if it's a frequent thing, but one time my wife didn't get a score when answering a question correctly. I ended up winning that round so I didn't mind, but she sure was pissed! Regardless, that's not a sign of quality.
2) It advertises itself as a multi-player Party Trivia game. Be aware that multi-player ONLY means TWO players. Not 3 or 4 or 8.... so not much of a trivia party.
3) Only played a few hundred questions, but seems this is a dump from a quiz game from 2009 as most of the questions was 2009 related and no later. Plus it helps if you're UK based as there are A LOT of questions from popular British and Australian soap operas.... so hope you still remember Eastenders storylines from 2009!
4) The only select screen in the game in useless. Doesn't show what option you're choosing, but at least I got 2 player when I pressed a button. Haven't tried a single game yet, and I'm not sure if I'll find the right button for that.
5) And for a game where you only have to move around between four alternative answers, they sure made the controls clumsy and ineffective. Plus I wouldn't have mind a function where your opponent doesn't see what answer you pick, for whenever a subject my wife knew I'd know, she'd just copy me. And with the controls being so unstable, a quick change just before the time runs out is risky.

It'll still pass a few hours whenever I'm in a quiz mood, but I wouldn't recommend this one. Let's hope a proper Quiz game gets ported one day.
