I don't understand why borrowing from BOTW is such a crime. Haven't seen souls-likes being bashed for being souls-likes. Double standards I guess... if it's Nintendo's precious child, you CAN'T BORROW FROM IT. If it's a non-Nintendo game, noooo problem!
Been playing it for a few days now, only encountered a handful of frame-drops. Game is a blast on switch lite, haven't tried the third one yet though...
@MisterMan yup I find it hard to believe that the reviewer have not experienced any of the issues you, me and many many others did (frequent crashes, disappearing saves, game freezing in inventory etc.). It's like - he had a completely different game than you and me! BTW I play it on Switch Lite, stored on internal memory - not the SD card which is btw actually the one recommended by Nintendo, so not some cheap crap.
I have tried again today, but oh man the flooded section when you go in-and-out of derelict houses and ships, that itself is just a game-killer for me. You walk 5 seconds from door to another door and than wait 30-40s to load another room, where you do 2-3s of walking to another... and repeat. I think I know what causes the game to crash though - it always happens after I put the console to sleep and then resume play. 10m after that, crash. Also, if you want to play something else, you can't even close the game from the Switch menu as the switch hangs on "closing the application"... after which it crashes.
@MisterMan I did, this game in this state should not have been released for sure. And the credibility of this website is really getting questioned here, with scoring this totally broken game 7/10...
This game is in horrendous technical state on Switch and I would recommend everyone to wait until it gets patched. IF it ever will get patched. The game crashes every 10-15m or so, the constant loading times are absolutely unacceptable (first load takes 1-2 minutes, not joking!), the game just freezes for 20-30s whenever you put a new gear on, game sometimes doesn't recognise you've just saved it (you save the game, next time you load the game, save is not there), music sometime plays, sometimes does not... the horrendous English mistakes, errors, typos, missing characters... honestly, I wouldn't bother with this until they fix all the game-breaking errors.
Unfortunately, Doom Eternal wasn't as good as the one from 2016. Too colorful, strange emphasis on low-ammo and huge reliance on finishers, micro-arena based level design, stupid platforming sections, non-sense story... game just wasn't as coherent and fluid as the one from 2016. I would advise on lowering your expectations...
This is a disaster for fans of Bethesda games. We've seen already what MS owned studios have to work on - games as service titles, each one has to make at least one barebones endless gaas game. I expect the same will happen to future Bethesda games. I think it is safe to say that era of quality single player titles from Bethesda studios is over.
The game was a solid experience until the bridge/sniper sequence. That sequence ruined all the good thoughts and feelings I had about the game. Those loose controls just made it absolutely random whether you've made it across or not. That sequence alone made me change the score from 8 to 5/10.
