well yeah like some users said take EC for what it is, there will be a new demo soon and once close to the wiiware one, try out the demo don't like it, don't buy it
name any other wiiware games that give you a PC demo beforehand?
a 5 dollar platformer, want a AAA game? get one in the store at 60$
the Wiiware one is half focused on story and platforming and will be different
oh yeah plus there will be a kind of how can I say? hmmm the PC and wiiware versions will react to each other...
well Alten8 are handling the Wiiware controls and other things that are different and I don't thing that demo level was the best one to design for a demo
The Wiiware one is alot more story focused, so see it as well a story platformer that should work well with wiimote controller
but hey I never said EC would be the best new thing gameplay wise, it's a very different type of platformer in terms of physics and most people think platformer = Mario
Hey guys I'm 22 this was my first game
All I can say is you guys wait for the wiiware world review they will know if it's good or not knowing that the PC and Wiiware versions are both handled by different people (with me having more control over the wiiware one)
well I will be constantly updating Eternity's Child on steam, and making sure the Wiiware one will be fun
I want to make sure Eternity's Child on Steam ends up a fantastic game with chapters updated all the time (probably having another update today, and Chapter 2 in September), and that the Wiiware one ends up a really good game
But being independent and not employed by a company it makes someone's situation very hard.
I do hope you guys will still enjoy Eternity's Child on wiiware. Being known as the guy who created "the worst game ever" just well kind of dug me in a very deep hole that is professionally hard to get out of. Even if that is just one person's opinion, people remember more the negatives than the positives.
I am just not in a position right now at all to continue making games.
And I am also very lucky that Alten8 is still getting the Wiiware version out.
There was no bug actually about jumping, Angel just bended before jumping, Wiiware World's preview would of mentioned it if not, it was not my fault if the reviewers did not know that you needed to hold the jump button in order for him to jump lol
don't worry guys it will come, before the wiiware version comes out for sure, so you will be able to test the game yourselves to see if it's worth your 500 points
well hey guys, we are releasing a demo on monday, directly for people to test on their PC's
I seriously think that they went insane on it, and it has morally broke me down, but once you guys get a demo you will see for yourselves it's not a 1/10
I have no idea how it works to be honest, I don't think it stays connected to the internet, since it works on non internet phones, a friend of mine who does mobile games ported this canceled game for me and then we just put it up on gamejump which is the leader of free mobile games
Your family plays Pong Toss? with your niece? lol you play a drinking game with your niece lol, that's just wrong lol, I would not share my vodka with some kids
god it's so sad, that Wiiware games from some devs are so terrible
it's really bringing the service down for all of us, seriously I never supported this game and I'm quite sad that Nintendo even allows garbage like that up on Wiiware
To be honest you need to try it out for yourself it feels in controls very different than other platformers
Eternity's Child even if it's just a platformer at heart is a very different game.
I'm really proud with what we've done, and this game will really make Wiiware more interesting than all the puzzle games and Shovelware on it. (apart from Lostwinds which is still my favorate title on the service and which I highly recommend)
Eternity's Child is not that hard, it's hard if you try and finish it by running really fast, but if you take your time to explore the levels you will find it not that hard
Basically you can run like crazy but that will get you killed since when a enemy spots you he will follow you until you kill him. So that's why you better just go slowly if you don't know the level.
I don't think you can even compare this game to a historical game. I mostly find the whole concept of this wiiware game stupid.
How can you even compare a game with college kids represented as stoners to a game that is showing the horrors of World War 2, and for once once showing that the war is not fun or a game.
You just can't compare them.
I'm more sad than anything to see that some developers can't think of something better as a game concept.
Nintendo does censor some things on Wiiware, since they are distributing the titles onto the service, so of course anything that involves drugs sex and controversial themes aren't allowed it's normal since Nintendo would get into trouble themselves.
But we don't even know if Nintendo censured it, maybe it was just that they realized that it was something silly. And secretly they are changing it to Vodka Pong.
The thing that amazes me is how some companies with terrible concepts of games get financing.
And if everyone keeps putting up Shovelware on Wiiware, Nintendo may just become like Microsoft with XBLA and approve titles and concepts before they let them on the service.
So World Of Goo, Lostwinds, Tori Toki, etc... aren't rivals but they are helping the service become more successful which will benefit all developers on Wiiware
Well that isn't going to happen, because Nintendo know about the title and are not against it (quite the contrary), it's a intelligent videogame based on the war.
This was just silly in my opinion. And I understand Nintendo's opinion, it would get them bad press as things like "Wii is making kids drink"
Developers should spend their money on great games like Tori Toki, Lostwinds, etc... rather than do things like Frat Games. Who would buy it anyway? If I want to get drunk I grab a bottle of Vodka and then drink, I don't play a videogame. Now getting drunk in GTA IV is different because it's got alot of other elements with it that makes it a proper game.
Imagination has a distributor.
And I'm not being rude I'm just saying what everyone is thinking.
The game was aimed at college boys, but would they rather just do beer pong with a wii remote? Or just go and grab beer and vodka and wisky and go and get drunk instead? Hmmmm let me think.
I was talking about other games that I have pitched to publishers, which had great game design (probably some of the best I've designed), but got shot down because they weren't known
It is written that Eternity's Child is going to be released first in Europe, and well I do not control the releases, and let's make this clear, I do not even own Eternity's Child Wiiware version. Alten8 does, so they want to go first with europe and don't have any plans for USA at the moment, but that does not mean it won't come out in the USA, it just means it will come out later.
Again I don't know when I do not own the Wiiware version.

You know what guys that demo level sucked, as people on the forums agree it does not represent the game.
So what I'll do is this, put out another demo of the first 2 levels instead.

Re: Eternity's Child Now Available for Steam
well the good thing that comes out with the steam version is that we can fix annoying things with patches
so then the wiiware one comes out pretty much awesome
right now I believe EC is a good platforrmer, nothing groundbreaking but well worth the 4.99$

Re: WiiWare Preview - Eternity's Child
the loose controls arent loose actually it's because the game has proper realistic physics that other platformers do not have
it adds alot more to the feel of the game when you kill enemies they will fall down and roll off platforms and it will never be the same
Re: WiiWare Preview - Eternity's Child
just for shooting, no waggle controls, as for a release date, I know that Alten8 wants to get it out asap
so at the moment Wii have no idea lol (I had to do that lol)
Re: WiiWare Preview - Eternity's Child
lol password lol it's on Wii mate and of course it saves after each level lol this is 2008
and no time limit those things are horrible

Re: WiiWare Preview - Eternity's Child
funny that some people find it hard, I guess some people won't get past the first level of Megaman 9, it's not as hard as Megaman 2 in my eyes
Re: Review: SPOGS Racing
lol
I'm really amazed what some "real" devs do with proper game budgets
Re: Beer Pong Goes Alcohol Free
well no one knows if it's actually Nintendo that censured the title
and if nintendo did, Wiiware is theirs so they are allowed to do what they want, so if they aren't happy they should just release it on PC

Re: Beer Pong Goes Alcohol Free
to be honest doing a game like that is kind of retarded and shovelware
why not do "trying to go to the toilet Wiiware"?
Re: Alten8: Eternity's Child Is Coming To North America
yeah its kind of sad that people don't realize that the youtube videos were from the XNA version that is older than a year ago
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
well the dollar is very weak indeed, but for example the Steam version will be 5 dollars worldwide (so cheaper for europeans)
but EC wiiware will be 500 points everywhere
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
"slaps head"
lol EC will come to the USA eventually
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
well it all depends on the dev, some devs are big companies on Wiiware (like the guys who did Lostwinds, Gyrostarr, etc...)
while others are indies like us and World Of Goo and we fund the games out of our own personal pockets
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
god why is it that people don't realise business, it's not as easy as Oh let's just release it in NA tommorow...
european companies deal with Nintendo Europe, americans deal with the USA one
both are seperate and do not act as a whole
oh yes and you think that us devs of EC are rolling in cash lol, now see why it's multiplatform?
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
@bwaybuddy26
well you must know more than I do from what i heard Europe is first
lol haha isn't that hilarious I don't even know when my own game is coming out
Re: World Of Goo Will Not Be Released On WiiWare In Europe!
the game seems like it will cost 2000 wii points on wiiware (since the PC version is 20 dollars)
so I don't know why people are moaning in Europe it will be probably 10$ more for retail
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
@deshadow52
I was talking about other games that I have pitched to publishers, which had great game design (probably some of the best I've designed), but got shot down because they weren't known
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
yeah it's just people should not get angry at me directly, I do not control the release
besides both versions will have their own exclusives
and at 5 dollars it's not like we're ripping anyone off
Re: Eternity's Child - No Plans For A North American Release
@deshadow52
Did you read the article correctly?
It is written that Eternity's Child is going to be released first in Europe, and well I do not control the releases, and let's make this clear, I do not even own Eternity's Child Wiiware version. Alten8 does, so they want to go first with europe and don't have any plans for USA at the moment, but that does not mean it won't come out in the USA, it just means it will come out later.
