Seriously, Taito? Taito (or the current owner of the rights) needs to stop sitting on their hands and start bringing out the heavy hitters, not this B-tier chaff. They've had plenty of time to release the good stuff, either via Arcade Archives or their own collection, but for some reason they have not.
I'm talking about the big guns, like:
Arkanoid Returns
Cadash
Chase HQ
Elevator Action Returns
Night Striker
Operation Wolf
Rastan
Space Gun
There are more of course, but these are the 8 that I would pick, instead of the 8 that are actually coming.
@Franklin What Nintendo Life meant was "We got review code for both Darius collections, The Coma 2, Missile Dancer, Blair Witch, Urban Flow, and approximately 50 other games prior to release, but didn't get review code for Episode 1 Racer until close to launch. That's why these games got reviewed, and will continue to get reviewed, first."
Step 1: Don't rely on (obvious) advice from gaming sties fishing for clicks. Step 2: Instead of reading lists, spend that time actually working through your backlog. Step 3: It's your hobby. Own it.
"Reminds me more of Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge than Out Run."
It should, as Horizon Chase is a tribute to / re-imagining of the SNES Top Gear games, which were themselves console spin-offs of the Lotus games on Amiga.
Fair enough, the word "Turbo" is not in the title, and I considered acknowledging that in my previous post. But in my opinion, hardcore Street Fighter 2 fans like myself recognize that this is essentially a port of SSF2T and thus aren't expecting bonus rounds. This is relevant because I feel that these hardcore fans are the most likely to pony up for this game - especially given the exorbitant price.
That said, Capcom certainly could have thrown in the bonus rounds anyway. This being a port of SSF2T though (title aside), it would be more accurate to say that bonus rounds were not added, rather than that they were removed.
"Strangely, the bonus rounds which saw you destroying a car and breaking barrels in between bouts have been removed entirely."
It's not strange, because the arcade version didn't have them either. Super Street Fighter 2 had bonus rounds, but Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, of which Ultra is a port, did not. Lots of reviewers of Ultra are getting this wrong, but it's easy enough to verify by watching a playthrough of SSF2T on Youtube, or booting it up in MAME.

@Shiryu Was that a joke? Those are not NES games in the Seinfeld pic...
