The proportions are off. If you compare it to how he looks in the poster, it definitely feels off. The head needs to be bigger in this screenshot. And his eyes are kind of close together. It definitely looks strange. We just have to wait like one more day to see it in motion though.
@Yorumi I'm very confused by your last comment. I don't believe I referenced a phantom group. What I am saying is that we, as fans, should unify and stop arguing. I'm not sure where you got the sense that I was talking about a mysterious group. Anyway, I need to get back to work and then I'm going to go and enjoy some video games with my family. Cheers.
@Yorumi No, I am not trying to say we shouldn't criticize Nintendo. What I am saying is we should provide constructive feedback as a consumer, not repeated hateful complaints online. Listen, I am all for changing the things we don't agree with. Our society is wrought with injustices all around. As people, we need to be the ones to incite change. If we want to make a change, we must go about it the right way. We can't just start bombing buildings hoping the world get's better. It may have worked in Fight Club, but it won't work in the real world. We have to be constructive, not destructive. Build, not destroy. If we want Nintendo or anyone to listen to us, we must have a unified voice. That's all I'm saying. Take it as you will.
@Yorumi "When it comes to a business transaction you are entitled to get what you want." I don't believe that is true in the slightest. You would be entitled to get what was offered. If I went to McDonalds and ordered a hamburger, but I really wanted a wagyu steak, I would not be entitled to that. However, if McDonalds offered me a hamburger and I accepted the transaction, but was given just the buns, I would be entitled to complain. Now if what you really want is not offered, then you should take your business elsewhere or settle for what is available.
@electrolite77 I think we're on the same page. Maybe a different paragraph of the page, but still around the same area. I think that it is perfectly fine to both give constructive feedback and complain on the internet, however there is a level of toxicity that I think is just outright damaging to the gaming community as a whole.
I personally feel like there are way too many youtube videos and news sites repeatedly covering this issue. Enough is enough. At a certain point it makes the gaming community seem like entitled children. I remember being a kid and playing my SNES and talking to my friends about it. When we talked about games, we just talked about how much fun we were having or how we finally beat Nick Bruiser in Super Punchout. Then some other kid would come up to us and tell us we were babies for playing on Nintendo and to get a real console to play Mortal Kombat with blood (I had both, I just preferred the SNES). Or remember when people were calling Wind Waker "Celda?" People have always whined about Nintendo, and it's no different now. It's just crazy to me to see people who claim to be Nintendo fans trashing the company for every little thing they do. "Cloud saves aren't for every game!" "Your save gets deleted when your subscription runs out!" "Pokemon Let's Go looks too easy!" "There's no wild Pokemon battles!" "Nintendo is charging $80 for cardboard?!" Why can't we just remember that games are for fun and have fun with them?
The $20 a year is to play games online, everything else is extras that are designed to entice consumers. If you don't want to play online, or the extras don't entice you enough, then okay, it's just not for you. The game doesn't have the feature or design you want, then okay, it's not for you, move on to a different game.
Let's just try to work together to turn the toxicity levels down a notch.
@electrolite77 Maybe I was expecting discussion about video games instead of a discussion on an optional secondary backup save.
That being said, let’s talk. This must be the first time many people have experienced the birth of an online service for a big company, but I've been working with video games since the birth of Xbox Live. Now, all of these services started off small, in fact, I remember the majority of people complaining about Xbox Live Gold and PS Plus when they first started. Be it about the price, the lack of desired features, or broken infrastructure. That's kinda how a service is going to work. A company will create a service that they did not provide, They will then ask for payment for said service, and then they will use that payment to improve the service. I have heard countless times people saying Nintendo should have delayed it for another year or so to expand the capabilities, but that is unreasonable. Why would they invest more of their own capital on improving a service that isn't being monetized? If you want Nintendo to improve, not paying for the service is the last thing you should do. If you expect improvements, then you should pay for the service and become an online customer, then reach out to Nintendo with your desires. They'll be more willing to listen to an actual customer than a boycotter.
Now, I understand people saying, “vote with your wallets,” but that is impractical in this situation, unless you want to completely cease from buying any Nintendo product in general. The service itself will sell if it is the only way to play Smash Bros online. Most consumers will not even know about the intricacies that we are all complaining about, they will just see that the $20 a year is required for online play, and pay it so they can play. Now, I’m not saying Nintendo’s service is perfect, but what service is? I have complaints of my own, but If we really want to incite change, we need to give constructive feedback to Nintendo about our grievances, and not just complain about it on the internet.
I’m getting tired of hearing the same complaints over and over. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Nobody is forcing you in to it.
We have so much negativity going on in our world these days, from global politics, to natural disasters. Can’t we at least be positive about the things that are supposed to bring us joy like video games?
Penultimate means second to last, so is there another one coming after these, or are you referring to King of Cards as penultimate and Showdown the final dlc?
I’m 36 hours in and I’ve played nothing but handheld. I’ve had the occasional frame drop and it looks blurry at some times, but it’s so fun I don’t really care. If anything now I’m just more excited to play it in TV mode when I get some time.
I love both styles, ALBW was awesome, and I would love to play that style of game in HD on the switch. Honestly, I was kinda bummed out at the thought of never seeing a 2d top down Zelda again, and now I'm pretty stoked to hear this. I hope the 2d and 3D dev teams make 2 games that tell a story together. Kinda like the Oracle games, but with both genres.
Wait, people are still complaining about a lackluster launch line up? If you were a 3rd party would you want to release your game at the same time as a new Zelda title? No, that would just hinder your sales. Additionally, why would Nintendo want to release more 1st part titles to compete with each other. A steady flow of first and third party games would be best for the console.
As far as 3rd Party goes, honestly most haven't announced this years titles yet for any console. I'm sure we'll hear more at E3. Did you all really want a flood of last year's games for the Switch at launch? Remember folks, this is a March console launch. Most of those big name 3rd party titles don't come out till November anyway.
