Re: Soapbox: If Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Isn’t Switch’s Swan Song, It Really Should Be

@antisumo Yeah there are some very well optimised games on switch but the issue there is at this point in the switches life games (like pokemon) would need DRASTICALLY increase production time and while definitely for the best by that point a new console would almost definitely be out. Many games being made have big ambition but optimizeing for switch would take a great amount of time and isnt worth it given the likely low purchase rate compared to other platforms and the amount of time and money being spent on possibly optimizing it. At this point many companies have stopped caring about optimizing and just want to put the game on to get however much money they can. If nintendo didny allow this and made sure games were optimiszed before release that would not be an issue like it is now. But apparently now they are contrubuting to this problem (scarlet+violet slideshow as opposed to functioning game) theyve gotten to the point where some of their own devs wont even care to optimize it so if something doesnt change soon theyre in for a mess.

@antisumo i agree with you on not needing 60 fps but if a game is to run at 30 fps i want it to stay at 30 fps. The switch and its games are running and looking worse than games that were made 10 years ago and older (ex. Skyrim 360) im loving tears of the kingdom and its clear the people who made it worked hard to have it work on an underpowered honestly pretty messy console and i very much appreciate that. But at the end of the day they can only go so far with the hardware theyre given.
