Unless you have fond memories of the game, or if you really want to know what the first game in the series was like, I advise you to stay away from this one. You start with almost no health each time you turn on the game and the planet is so hard to navigate with no map and a lot of the rooms are ones identical (literally) to others.
I say if you want a real, worthy Metroid game, get Super Metroid. It is way better and well worth the added 300 points.
I wonder if I should get this. This sounds interesting. It seems like a good game with loads of variety, and Drake's review made the game sound awesome, but will the game be too hard for me?
Also, I loved Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the GBA, so will I like this game? Decisions, decisions...
I was appalled by the worse-than-N64 graphics I saw of the game. Make the weird... deformed... low-polygon-count moving dolls look SOMETHING like the Pokémon themselves, please! Also, this disgrace would most likely anger Pokéfans if anything.
And DarkMatter, I could agree with you more because this looks WORSE than Bill's PC.
I remember this game from when I was little. 'Twas the first Kirby game I ever played. I loved the ability to combine powers. Long live Fridge Kirby and the yellow Darth Maul sabre! I'd definitely take the ability mixing over multiple moves for each ability. And the only useless one is Ice & Burn. That's right, Kirby turns into an ice-cube and melts.
As for the graphics, the game does a much better job setting the mood for the areas than the previous 2D games. The only problem with the change to 3D is, yes, the enemies look mundane and lifeless and the game has been slowed down quite a bit when compared to the other games.
I would not agree that this game is a disappointment. Maybe it's not quite as good as Super Star, but still a great game.
