I liked it, still do, hosted events on there, fell foul of the admin more than once. But I applaud strong moderation, in a declining civilisation I found it refreshing. With a few tweaks it would be perfect for me. But hey-ho, the only tiny glimmer left is the online petition at Change.org for Save Miiverse
I'm a huge Miiverse fan... the petition to keep it is on Change.org with over 4K signatures so far. It's not perfect but it's preferable to other social media for me. November 8th is a sad day in my diary
So, many months have passed and it turns out Nintendo will not be supporting Miiverse for years to come, not even many months. The petition is still live and for those that are interested please sign. If you hate Miiverse then don't worry, seems you get your wish
The petition was started because people felt that Miiverse still had relevance on Nintendo consoles moving forward, admittedly it's not for everyone, but neither are other forms of social media. Many WiiU and 3DS users have greatly enjoyed the service albeit not all. As for contacting Nintendo customer services, they were contacted and said "Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Team regarding your query about Miiverse.
We regret to inform you that Nintendo has no official announcement about your query regarding Miiverse, at this time"
I think I read in an interview with Reggie that existing peripherals would not be compatible initially but there was a possibility later... so who knows, maybe they're waiting to see who has £100 for Switch pro controllers etc. I'm not sure the art events would work elsewhere either, they could, but for the ones I host I just don't know if I want to invest that time in other sites.
I appreciate that Miiverse has not always been everybody's cup of tea, but for many it has been a great hub for sharing art in a supportive and fun way. The fan based art events, the comics some of the discussions on games have been a great source of joy for many too. Okay so there's the trolls, the infantile humourists, the issues with administration, but for the most part Miiverse has been a great social medium for Nintendo gamers. It's been utilised to great effect in games like splatoon, it's been a great way to chat with developers, it's also given many an incentive to draw and express themselves. In a commercial world of endless clones it is nice to differentiate one console from another and with Miiverse Nintendo had that difference. Had they run with the idea more fully rather than clamping down on it then I think it would have been a good thing. I'd like to see it remain in some capacity. and I welcome people trying to express to a company how they feel about something. Apathy and complacency are all too common these days, better to try for something than lay down and watch it disappear

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Miiverse Or StreetPass
I'm a fan of Miiverse and it's art community. I like the integration with games like splatoon.
There's a petition to see Miiverse used in future consoles including the Switch
