Microsoft had Quantum Break, Project Spark, Risese Son of Rome ,Sunset Overdrive(well not a their ip but you got the idea, it flopped..)
And if you're talking about Rare, then yes Rare didn't do to well (besides Rare Replay and the early kinect games, those were successful).
At the end of the day, Rare is valuable for Xbox, Sea of Thieves is doing amazingly well on both Xbox and PC and their next new ip had a lot of potential.

Rare is Xbox's one of the most valuable studios, their last game Sea of Thieves is Xbox's most successful new ip and is Rare's best selling game of all time, and they're making a new ip for Xbox Series X.
Level 5 would be a logic one even tho Nintendo didn't buy Alpha Dream (which it was in the same financial situation as Level 5)
And I don't think Sony will ever sell one of their ip's, sadly games like Gravity Rush and Ape Escape are dead :/
