Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Okay staff writers, there’s no way your feelings match your words. The weapons alone were bad, but the durability attached was unbearable. Loss aversion dictates the human brain perceives loss, or even the risk of it, at three times the magnitude of gain, or the potential for. Try and convince yourselves otherwise all you want, but it’ll never be true. The only thing creative about the system was the lies people use to convince themselves they didn’t feel terrible while playing it.

In BOTW, there simply wasn’t a potential reward system in place to match the risk of weapon loss, which makes people feel empty inside, like a chemical withdrawal, and in the end, players simply avoided combat to forage and hang glide. It’s a terrible system, lazy design, and not even that good of a Zelda game. Hyrule Warriors might have been better…it’s close.
