It happened to me and the game save file got corrupted after about 17 hours of game play. I assume it's gone forever?
@shonenjump86 I got past that part and had no problems with it. I'd still be wary about buying it though as many people on the Ubisoft forums are saying their save file is getting erased at all different points in the game.
