@directedat And on that note - yes we did thank him twice in the game credits. And yes we are still friends. And yes I've been working alone in unity for a year now. I do have a contracted co-designer. But development wise. I'm the code, and art... sometimes the sfx.
@directedat DB left the company May of last year and nothing he turned in before he left was finished or worked - I had to scramble and redo most of it or cut it. So yes Royal Edition I pretty much did on my own. And I do all of the coding for the company for my new engines. She didn't imply that DB didn't do the original BPM, but all of the fixes and changes aside of a few very early things in Royal Edition were all me.
@MysticGengar Nice! I didn't realize what day it was when I was setting it up again on the store. Kept thinking to myself"... the 13th... why is the 13th ringing a bell. Do I have an appointment or something?"
It's also my birthday. I've been so busy I forgot about it... yup. Launching the Switch and PS4 on my birthday... opps.
@Gorfvic20 I wish they would finish the Maximo storyline Maximo 3 got canned a long time ago. Sophia was never saved. Always bummed me out. Maddi and I were actually watching a video for Army of Zin last night and at the end I said "Maximo never gets to save Sophia." "Why? He beat the bad guy!" "Because the third story got canceled, it's never coming out." "That's Stupid, are they really old and cant make the games anymore?" she said. "Something like that..." I replied XD
I'm assuming the second one didn't sell well? I think they shut down the studio that was doing it. Might have also been the guys that made that terrible final fight game on xbox and ps2.. maybe Beatdown: Vengeance (or whatever it's called)?
I'd love to see Maximo remastered for ps4 and the 3rd part of the story completed.
@Nomad Yeah... I bought it just for GnG and 1941 It's a pretty amazing system coupled with the CD-ROM attachment an an arcade card. "The Beast" is my favorite system in my collection!
@ogo79 If I could have the arcade PCB or the X68000 version I would. I typically play the arcade version on my RetroPie+RetroTink on a crt if I emulate. I just have a soft spot for an old machine pushing such a beautiful game Plus I'm old and cranky and prefer real hardware
@Nomad I had the GB and NES ones back when they came out but not anymore. Demon's Crest I have. I don't think I've ever finished any of them. The NES one always caught my eye so I might pick it up again one day. Demon's Crest I suck at, but the artwork always pulls me back
My quick fix is usually the GBA Super GnG Advance since they remade a few of the original Ghosts 'n Goblins levels and updated some of the visuals. Or I just fire up my Supergrafx and do a quick playthrough of GnG XD
@Nomad I've had GnG since it came out on the Genesis as well. Hardest game I'd ever played at that point - now it's a walk in the park! I always found the SNES game to be harder because of the slow down, and the game suddenly re-gaining speed just in time for me to get picked off by an enemy bullet etc. As a die hard GnG fan I loved the Maximo series and was totally floored when I heard they had canceled the 3rd installment, never to finish the story line
There were a lot of other not so known GnG games that came out. Two iPhone originals called Gold Knights 1 and 2 I think and then the odd little wonderswan game.
