Would be a surprise to me if Nintendo reveal anything at the awards - goes against their tried and true method of ‘Direct’ reveals no?
I don’t for a minute think that means they don’t have some more surprises stuffed up Reggie’s sleeves though - the advance wars, biker mice from mars, pokemon conquest and mario strikers remakes will surely be announced soon. Surely.
When did it become so depressing reading these lists? Not because the games are bad, more that I was hoping that there’s absolutely nothing I want/like but yet again with new releases and sales everywhere i’m like a dog chasing after so so SO many cars.
Reckon i’m just going to have to stop reading about new games for a while - I can’t be sad about missing out on them/not getting time to play them if I don’t know they exist!
I know you have to drive engagement and finish articles off by asking a question or two but “Are you glad the company is listening to fans?” is dialling it in just a little, no? Surely the only people answering ‘No’ are the poor sods who have to make the changes? Nit-picky? Sure. Just made me chuckle when I read it though is all
I would/should be one of the excited people about this, DW8 was great when released so the chance to give it another whack with all the lovely bits added on is a great thing hoooowever, having bought WO4 for switch I’m going to have to see some concrete info regarding performance before I shell out; WO4 isn’t unplayable but the frame rate is certainly less than stellar at times - posted this in the ‘Orochi game thread but will repost here (performance analysis of WO4 on switch & ps4) in case anyone is interested; https://youtu.be/PyOrtkqSp-w
I’m not normally an advocate of MMO’s - just not my thing - and naturally the ‘always online’ aspect doesn’t gel well with the portability of the switch at all buuuut just thinking of a game world where your story is your own, but all of the pokemon in it are global; as in each of them gets experience by battling real trainers?
The world/pokemon would grow organically, could breed organically (ageing too etc) and if you bred them yourself you could release into the wild? Maybe different species breed in different seasons so numbers rise/dwindle accordingly?
Maybe the gyms could be set up like guilds and done properly unlike the Pokemon Go raid thing? You could tackle the offline gym’s or the current online ones?
Obviously stuff would need to be done to stop a-holes (for example) hoarding all the Eevee’s or gaming the different systems but potential is enormous! The ability to do all that on a private server populated only by friends also makes me wet my knickers...
Failing that, a fully realised 3D game would certainly have my attention (and money) but I hope with everything I have they at least make it remotely challenging - Octopath has just recently reminded me as to how good tactical and challenging turn based combat can be (although ironically some of the main random battles are painfully easy/drag so the game does display both sides of that coin).
