Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

Apple5

I voted 2015. I was a huge Nintendo supporter then and had been since the SNES & game boy, and I was a big advocate for the Wii U at the time. Nintendo’s 2015 E3 digital showcase was so disappointing and they basically just gave up on Wii U and making any games for it anymore. As a consumer, I felt betrayed at the time. I think I went out the next day and bought a PS4. I have owned a switch since Mario odyssey released, but I think they lost a bit of my trust as a consumer in 2015. They are still a bit wishy washy in the communications and messaging now. Which of their 1st party games are releasing next & when??? #stillwaitingformetroidprime4 ✌️

Re: Nintendo NX Will Avoid The Launch Issues Which Plagued 3DS And Wii U, Claims Iwata

@rjejr
I'm glad you laughed at Reggie, I screamed out "No!" while the sound of 10mil Wii U owning souls exploded in the background.
Bah ha ha - so true, I was one of those souls. Fortunately I have moved on to PS4 already. So much good stuff out & coming soon. It will keep me occupied on the home console front while Nintendo work out what the hell they are doing and who their market is. As someone else mentioned, I will probably wait a year or two before jumping into the next Nintendo home console after its released, if ever again. I've owned every home console since SNES. A very sad state of affairs.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate's Story and Fan Reactions

@DarkKirby as a single player game, I put 120+ hrs into MH3U on wii U. I'd also played MH3 on Wii before that. I've only played the demo of MH4U but have to say what I've seen is better than MH3U. The game is so much more than the demo. It's the RPG elements of the game, mining for better armour, farming for items to make health/weapon power ups/ sending your fishing fleet out to find items for power ups/ simple things like fishing during a quest to get small golden fish. The demo is a taster but it's like a taster of a smorgasbord. Monster hunter 4 will be an awesome game on 3DS and if you like a good action RPG go for it. Do yourself a favour and buy a new 3DS XL too, you won't regret it for this. My weapon of choice 'dual blades'

Re: Nintendo Europe Shipping Ambassador Edition New Nintendo 3DS to Select Club Nintendo Members Right Now

This looks like a great offer!!! I bought my new 3DS w/ cover plates in Nov as I live in Australia...still kept my standard 3DS XL which I only upgraded to from my old 3DS this time last year...I will eventually upgrade my XL to the new one later this year(hoping for a spec edition XL of Majora's mask or Xenoblade chronicles). I will prob then give the new 3DS w/ cover plates to my daughter & sell her old pink 3DS & my old XL and then she can buy some animal crossing plates to customize it....shame you can't get points for the new 3DS systems on club nintendo though

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Legend Of Zelda Game?

Apple5

For it's time and the impact it had when it was released...it has to be Ocarina of Time. Voted for the N64 version over the 3DS version for this reason. One of the most complete Zelda experiences. Saying that, I love them all.

Re: Poll: A Tale of Two Blockbusters as Mario Kart 8 and Watch Dogs Arrive This Week

Apple5

I would have bought both if watch dogs was released on Wii U this week too. I can understand if Ubisoft want to hold off on the Wii U version to have a bigger install base, which Mariokart 8 will hopefully achieve.
I'm disappointed Ubisoft are not supporting Wii U as much now though they have been a great advocate for Wii U, I have bought most of their games on Wii U. I hope the Wii U install base improves and more 3rd parties come back so that we can enjoy a wider variety of games.

Re: Satoru Iwata Outlines Wii U Holiday Target Audience and Aim for a "Unique Approach"

Maybe they should stop trying to still flog off the wii and start pro-actively advertising the wii u. In Australia, the latest Christmas toy catalogue has an ad for the wii with mario kart for 50% off.

No sign of wii u anywhere. They are definitely missing a trick. How hard is basic advertising???
Earlier in the year they had a competition on camp orange on Nikelodeon and one of the prizes was a wii...not a wii u...come on Nintendo...open your eyes.
I love Nintendo but it saddens me with the way it is promoted and run, though honestly it's been the same since at least the N64 days.
