I still own my copies of The Two Towers and The Return of the King for GBA. So good. I personally love Aragon's campaign on those. I remember as a teen, I kept looping to get red items and equipment.
I found this type of system familiar to me as I had played and beaten Diablo 1. It was a lot of fun to play!
I'd really like to try The Third Age. I don't think there's a way I can (legally, anyway).
I did remember trying the LoTR game on the SNES and being so frustrated with it. I was a preteen and was sad there were no other LoTR games at the time. It was nice to have the licensed games in the 2000's come out.
Has anyone tried Afterimage? I really want to see if that game got a performance boost. I don't have a Switch 2 and probably won't until later this year.
@sleepinglion Funny enough, I never played the GCN versions, but I got the physicals of the GBA versions as birthday/Christmas presents when they came out. The GBA games of The Two Towers and Return of the King are really fun! In The Two Towers, you have 4 playable characters, and 4 save slots, so one save per character. I played through all the characters, though Frodo's was really hard to finish. In RoTK, you have 5 characters and only 4 save slots. Which bothered me because both games featured NG+, you could cycle through the story and get better loot. It'd be nice if Nintendo brought those to NSO, but they'd have to go through EA.
I got the GBA version of The Two Towers for Chistmas when they came out. That was an amazing game I played over and over and over again. I also got the GBA version of Return of the King, equally amazing. I gave them both 9's.
I've also played the GBA version of the Hobbit--I wasn't very satisfied by that. Nothing memorable about it. So, 5.
And the SNES version got a 1. I remember how frustratingly hard it was and boring it was, too.
As for the Third Age, I saw my friend play it on their Xbox and it looked amazing. I never got to play it and I never knew it was for the GameCube.
As for the GameCube versions of The Two Towers and Return of the King, I've played neither. But I've heard from many people they are very good. So, I'd love to try them. For anyone who hasn't tried the GBA versions, PLEASE DO. They are awesome.
My only qualm with RoTK on GBA is that it has 5 playable characters and only 4 save slots. :S
Edit: I still have my physical GBA carts for The Two Towers and Return of the King! <3
I have never played a F-Zero game in my life. I tried F-Zero 99 this morning, and I had a lot of fun and kept playing... and almost missed an important doctor's appointment. Given this, I think it deserves a better chance. I'm not going to force anyone to play it; I had only originally intended it to download it for showing support for the F-Zero crowd since, as a Metroid Fan, I understand the pain. The 2010-2016 years weren't good to us. Not to mention, it took 19 years for a direct sequel to Metroid Fusion, released on the GameBoyAdvance, to happen. Now, Metroid seems to be thriving whereas before the MP 4 announcement and the release of Samus Returns, we all thought Samus would become a Smash-only character. Perhaps this is best time to exercise "hope, but do not expect." You hope, you wish for the best, and you expect to get nothing. That was my attitude before Samus Returns. And it has rewarded me greatly. I hope Nintendo will continue forward, revive the IP, and reward the F-Zero Fanbase greatly.

@AmplifyMJ Last I checked, it was also the number 1 on the US eShop. X.x; But in this case #1 doesn't mean best.

Guys, I'm sorry, but you can't be Locke Cole in real life.
No one gets away with stealing 10k of games.
