Volleyball Review - Screenshot 1 of 1

Volleyball represents yet another of Nintendo’s dated sport sims. Comparing to Soccer, Baseball, Ice Hockey, Tennis on the NES this game is the worst of the bunch.

Considering it was released in 1986 it is understandable that the graphics and sound are nothing to write home about. The players continually bop up and down all the time which is off-putting, in addition the ball is bigger than the players heads.

What really lets this game down is the ropey gameplay, you never really feel like you are in control of the action and connecting with the game.

Super Spike Volleyball is a much better example of a Volleyball game for the NES. If you are a big fan of the sport you would be best advised to wait for a better example of the sport to arrive on the Virtual Console.
