Happy shopping!
Original article [Fri 23rd Dec, 2022 18:15 GMT]: Yo-ho-ho! Following on from Nintendo's final House of Indies, where Sports Story finally launched, the Big N is slashing prices on some of the console's best indie titles.
From now until 1st January 2023, you can get up to 50% (or more) off of some of the best independently-developed games. Or just add to the ever-expanding backlog of digital games on your Switch. Don't look at us, we're not talking from experience at all.
To celebrate Sports Story's release, why not kick off with Golf Story — the first game in the series — which is under $10. That's a hole-in-one for sure.
One last thing before we jump into the best games and deals, we've got 10% off of all of our eShop codes here at Nintendo Life as part of our Christmas sale — just enter XMAS10 at the checkout to make savings before you even start browsing the eShop!

Ghost Song is also on sale
No, not again, no, no, NOOOOOO! I just got three games from the last sale, and there's already another? Well, guess I'm spending more money then... wait. None of the games interest me? Ok... (puts wallet back in pocket and sighs in relief)
I've got $6 burning a hole in my Murican eShop wallet.
The time is now.
Bummed Tunic isn’t part of the sale. Will probably pick up Ghost Song though!
There are some good games here, but most of the ones I wanted I bought on previous sales. I was briefly excited to see Shovel Knight Dig on the list before I saw it was only 10% off; combined with the NintendoLife eshop card sale this could be %20 off, but I still tend to wait for better sales unless I urgently want a game.
I encourage anyone who doesn't own it to snag Cris Tales at 80% off; it's a beautiful game and more than fun enough for that price even if you don't end up beating the game.
I picked up Bomb Chicken since that hasn't been on sale in two years. I wish Spider Heck were on sale as that would be nice to play with family over the holidays.
I know it was wishful thinking but I did hope we would get one more heavy hitter Indie game announcement this week outside Sports Story, which everyone already knew was coming.
Does NLife have any Eshop Gift Card promos that work for residents in Canada?
… Wun can only hope.
Minoria is an absolute steal at that price. I highly recommend it to anyone that’s looking for a solid 8 hour metroidvania with an anime stylized look. I thought the game was fantastic. If Momodora’s also on sale, those are two top shelf indievanias.
Risk of Rain 2 and Castle Crashers Remastered for less than $8 each is a steal. If you hadn't play them go grab em.
Backlog always starts piling up at the end of the year. This isn't helping, lol.
Bug Fables is at an all time low, $10. I've been waiting for that price and it is now mine. I'm looking forward to playing a proper Paper Mario game hehe
@wuntyme8
Try XMAS10
I already have all the good ones
So many bangers, and quite a few of them have been sitting on my wish list for ages awaiting sales. Some of them still aren't as cheap as I would like them so we'll see if I wind up with some extra money after Christmas to see if I can buy more LOL.
Great time to grab Neon White if you haven't already.
How'd they miss Cat Quest 2 for $2.24?
Oh right, busy pasting their links to eShop cards.
Boomerang Fu is regularly on sale for $1.99. Pick it up then, it's a great game to play with kids. Speaking of that, how is Bugsnax on Switch? Is it a good game for kids?
@Divide_and_Wander you’re going to love Tunic. (Maybe you’ve played it already but if not it’s so good.) I got it full price on launch and ZERO regrets. 👍
I picked up the Slain/Valfaris double pack (come on, $3.99 for BOTH games!) and I’m loving them both. The artwork and animations are epic. Tough games though.
I also picked up Gato Roboto. Great little metroid-like title starring a cat in a samus power suit basically. $2 was my sweet spot for that one and it finally got there. Great night for me!
Edit: None of the titles I mentioned were listed in this sale, but they are on sale nonetheless. This just goes to show why maintaining a wishlist on DekuDeals.com is a budget gamer’s best friend.
@ChromaticDracula - I played a little bit on Xbox Game Pass, but I very rarely have the time to use it more than 10 minutes at a time. Figured I would enjoy it more on the Switch. Would love to just pick it up, but thoroughly sapped of cash. 😂
@Magician
"I've got $6 burning a hole in my Murican eShop wallet."
"Murican"?
@Mario500
It’s like a slang term referring to the drawl in some American accents when they pronounce “America”
@Rainz @Mario500
I come from a place where some of the locals say "Murica", lol
Not part of this sale exactly, but Hazelnut Hex is 70% off and just a few bucks. Get it.
In my opinion, hugging A hat in Time is worth it even for the full price.
