If you're looking for more Monster battle games later this year, one game you might want to keep an eye on is the massive multiplayer creature collecting game Temtem.
It's scheduled to be released on the Switch on 6th September. Ahead of its launch, publisher Humble Games has uploaded a new trailer showcasing all the features players can expect in Version 1.0. This version lines up with the Nintendo Switch release.
The features coming at the launch of 1.0 include Seasons (seasonal updates including a battle pass), endgame content (a final island featuring activities and more), and a premium store, featuring cosmetic items.

Gotta catch ‘em all!!
I'm interested to see how this one does on Switch. At least they got it out before the new Pokémon game. I'll give it a shot to see how it stacks up, like I did with Nexomon.
I bit hate that Physical games gives 5 times less gold coins, because then I would considered buy first on Nintendo Switch due I could dropped my price by 9€, but now I can drop by 1,8€, so PC feels better way to try out the game.
@eaglebob345 if I remember well Nexomon is single-player game with some multiplayer while Temtem is actually MMORPG so you need internet all the time to play the game.
@eaglebob345 well Nexomon is single player, even more than Pokémon.
But where both Nexomon and Pokémon can be played without internet, TemTem requires it and is a MMO type of game.
Playing it since early access but I did stop because the game lost it’s charm quickly.
Quick question since I haven't kept up with this game since a few years back but am still very interested in it: is it free to play? I feel like I remember seeing an article that said it was but now I'm not so sure. If you know whether it's one or the other, please let me know!
This game looks promising indeed, it could well be a step forward in the genre. I just hope it runs and looks good on Switch, which will probably be the best console for this!
@Fizza It's not a free-to-play title. On the official Nintendo website, it's priced at $44.99 / £39.99.
@Liam_Doolan Thanks! I must be thinking of the closed beta they had a while back. Sorry for my ignorance 😅
The world color scheme looks samey thru the whole trailer.., gonna likely need a map to not get lost. Needs more vivid color variety visuals wise.
I really hope I can co+op thru it all both online and or local.
Tbh I'd like it better as ftp. I think. Otherwise I don't think I value it more than $20
The best part about temtem is the theme song.
@Rayquaza2510 @SViper Thanks for the feedback. I keep forgetting that it's an MMO with required online play, but I still want to give it a chance. I will definitely quit if it's too much of a grind, though. I was never one for grinding, especially in online games.
Even if this game is always relatively niche, it's good to give Pokemon some healthy competition to keep them evolving (pun intended).
Forgot this even existed!
Is there a story mode or is it just an endless set of battles?
This game really fizzled off, I remember so many big content creators hyping it up as a Pokemon killer when it hit early access, and it was right around the peak of the Sword/Shield controversy too. People wanted an alternative to Pokemon I guess.
But I have heard literally nothing about it for a year, and now it's finally hitting the 1.0 release and I'm still hearing nothing. Kind of worrying for an MMO I think?
EDIT: Looked a bit into it, game looks pretty good but it has paid season passes and cosmetic microtransactions, that's not good for a retail priced game. I'd have preferred if it wasn't an MMO at all.
