We've all had a taste of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's brand new course, Sky-High Sundae, by now. This sweet course is sprinkled with bright colours and dangerous paths with perilous pits to fall down.
Coming as part of Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass, it stood out as the only new course, however, Nintendo confirmed in the announcement trailer that Sky-High Sundae would also be coming to Mario Kart Tour at a later date. Later, being, 8th August at 11pm PDT, or 9th August for some of us!
The official Mario Kart Tour Twitter confirmed that the Sundae Tour, in which Sky-High Sundae will make its mobile debut next week.
The Tour course removes the anti-gravity mechanic we see in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version, but do we really care when we get to drive in an ice cream truck?
It also looks like White Tanooki Mario from Super Mario 3D Land will be making his debut on the tracks, along with a few other new costumes, karts, and more.
The Sundae Tour will kick off next week, following the conclusion of the Ocean Tour!
How are you enjoying Sky-High Sundae in Mario Kart 8? Will you be checking the course out in Tour? Let us know!

Even though the track look like something more suited for Fall Guys, it is a lot of fun to race on. Cheers.
To me, this just demonstrates that the anti-grav feature on Sky-High Sundae for MK8 is little more than a visual flourish.
Nintendo pumps out Mario Kart Tour tracks faster than male seahorses pump out babies. I should know--I am one.
While I like that you can boost off of the handrails, it would have been way cooler if it was possible to grind on them skateboard-style.
As someone who's never played Mario Kart tour (and has no interest in playing it) this isn't the only new course on a personal level.
I'm playing all the Tour courses for the first time with this DLC expansion which kind of makes it feel better value
Edit: oh and before someone says "huh you could have played them for free anyway on MK tour."
I'll argue to the death with you that it's totally not the same playing them on a mobile phone with touch screen controls compared to playing with joy cons on a 65" TV
@Joriss Even the music sounds like Fall Guys, it's rather weird. Does anyone know if Fall Guys popular in Japan out of curiosity?
@Member_the_game Plus Mario Kart Tour uses touch screen and controls like arse. Uninstalled that one quickly.
It's not my favourite course, but at least I can save my rubies.
Hopefully if the anti-gravity is removed they can add proper collision to the fences. I find that looks a bit odd on the MK8 version.
Meanwhile I'm still hoping they'll add a bunch of the characters and costumes from Tour to MK8D as well somehow, even if it has to be outside the Booster Course Pass.
Erm sorry, but why is Rosalina's costume so, erm, how do i explain this, erm.....
And Mario Twerking? What is going on?
yeah Im saving my rubies until I either see dk jr or vampire waluigi in a pipe
@Yosher
8d def needs better characters, maybe they could do a smash reveal type thing until the next mk game is released after 2023
Sky-High Sundae's main strengths are its colorful design and anti-gravity, so I feel like the Tour version will be quite a bit more boring in comparison to 8 Deluxe's.
@Olliemar28 It's not just for show. Anti gravity changes the handling of the vehicle allowing for fine, floaty air control.
@Ade117 lol, anti-gravity? they just turned the vehicles into hover mode and call it a day, nothing here Tour can't handle. This track is obviously a Tour track ported and released first in MK8DX to save face. EVERY sigle track is a tour port, this way they can use the booster pass money to develop tracks for both games.
@HugoGED Just bumping into other players can enhance the experience even without any crazy going on walls or upside down. It's fun to get a speed boost. Baby Park is proof of that.
It's pretty simple but fun
It’s been officially announced now!
