The latest charts are in and this week sees a couple of noteworthy changes. First off, KLONOA: Phantasy Reverie Series debuts at the half way point at number 5, with Switch making up more than half of its total sales. It's a reasonably strong start for the 2.5D platformer and although we've yet to publish our own thoughts on the remake, you can check out a bunch of other reviews right here.
Elsewhere, as expected, Mario Strikers: Battle League Football has fallen out of the top 10 to come in at number 11. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, meanwhile, has fallen even further this week to land at number 27. Yikes.
Otherwise, it's looking like business as usual in the top 10: F1 22 remains at the top, but the usual suspects on Switch retain their positions comfortably.
Here's your look at the top ten for the week:

Switch Sports continues to have very strong momentum, it's at #2 on the eshop (only beaten by the Portal collection) and has been consistently in the top 5 on the eshop the whole time.
FIFA!!!!
** shakes fist **
How was Klonoa number 4 last week if it’s new?
Slight error in the table which shows Klona as being #4 last week.
All fixed.
@RadioShadow Kids like football.
Holy crap the fact that klonoa is even in the top ten is amazing! From what I've played so far it's a solid remake.
The longevity of Mario Kart 8 is so impressive.
@HollowSpectre No! This amazing triple A masterpiece should be number 1!! Do better consumers!! (Heh jk. Looking forward to receiving my copy soon!)
Very respectable debut! But it's unlikely that it will hold in the top 10 for very long in the UK.
@RadioShadow At least GTA V is nowhere to be seen this week
Good for Klonoa and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, hopefully the next batch of DLCs come soon.
I'm still considering between buying Klonoa or Kao the Kangaroo. This month I already planned buying LiveALive and Xenoblade 3 so 2 more other new games are probably too many.
I'll buy Klonoa either way some day tho. I always wanted this little guy to return.
@jowe_gw Just a thought, maybe go with Klonoa first. Early numbers seem to matter most to publishers. And there will be time to support Koa later. Up to you though, peace. 😀
Nice debut Klonoa! You deserve the time in the spotlight.
For me (a huge Nintendo fan) Nintendo have REALLY fallen off a cliff this past few months...nothing to look forward to, no fun things or updates..We don't even know WHAT the next MK8D tracks will be, or when the Mario Strikers update will be for characters (as it is not worth even £10 in current state IMHO..played it twice and was too bored)
Sorry for the rant...Just need a Direct or something to give me a reason to love them again!
@Toads-Friend I agree, but I’ve just shifted my focus from looking for the latest fun news to exploring games (mostly older ones) that I’ve never taken time for before. If you’re anything like me, there’s always a backlog of amazing games to check out. Yeah, might not be the new hotness, but just… idk, just a reminder to enjoy games for what they are, and don’t worry about the current culture as much.
If you have NSO… that’s a ton of gaming right there. I guess you sort of have to make a conscious effort to get into that retro mood, but when you do, those are some of the best times you can have gaming.
Not trying to talk down to you, I do get it. I haven’t been interested in much from Nintendo in a good while. Don’t care much about Metroid Prime 4 (could change) or BOTW2… but I’d flip over a Mario Odyssey 2!
I have however been pretty excited about stuff like Cotton, Pocky & Rocky, Klonoa, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium (because of 3 Wonders) and Fighting Collection… some others too probably… so I’m good. It’s a good time to let some of these smaller titles shine.
Yep, hope you can find the joy again… while we wait for Nintendo’s special brand of fun to return.
Still waiting for my copy to come in. But the fact that klonoa made it into the top 10 charts puts a smile on my face.
Don't know what the case was in the UK but if it was the same as here in the U.S., Klonoa wasn't advertised at all, so this isn't bad for a niche IP.
This makes me happy, because I can't have enough platformers with good vibes. I hope it stays in the top ten for a while.
@BlubberWhale brilliant reply, my friend! Just what I needed to "snap out of it" thank you, you're right ❤️
hope it will sell well.
I want Klonoa 3
The game looks fun, but the price is a bit too steep for me right now
I guess your sister site will actually acknowledge the chart again 😂
@Toads-Friend Nothing to look forward to? Xenoblade 3 and Splatoon 3 are out within the next few months.
It's odd to see these articles about how well Klonoa is doing in terms of sales and reviews, but there's no review from nintendolife yet, which would only help boost sales, if it fares well.
It's great to see Klonoa selling well!
@BlubberWhale I totally understand but Kao the Kagaroo is also a small niche platformer that recently got another shot. Hm... I'll try picking both when I can.
@The__Goomba Ah this is true..
I'm very happy to see this charting at all. Had Amazon not screwed up my delivery by designating it to shudder Royal Mail, I too would be enjoying my copy right now.
Alas, I shall have to wait.
@Toads-Friend Hey sounds good! Glad it was well received and you caught the positive vibe I was going for. 🙂
@jowe_gw True, I know what that game is on a very surface level, but I should probably look into it a bit more. Seemed kinda cool.
@BlubberWhale Both look cool in my opinion. And both are niche IPs that have been dormant for years. I'll probably pick Klonoa first but I'm going to get both for sure.
@jowe_gw Awesome. If you feel like sharing any thoughts on Kao the Kangaroo after you eventually play it, please do. (Ha, I don’t seriously expect you to find your way back here, but it’s a nice thought heh.)
Also… probably best not to hear any glowing reviews… already too much to play. 😅 Still gotta decide on Bayo 3 this year… hmm.
Klonoa, my beloved. Making a rise in the weekly charts as expected.
@BlubberWhale Yep. Bunch of good games from Nintendo (published) this year. LiveALive, Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3, Bayo 3, Mario+Rabbits, Pokemon (hopefully is good), Advance Wars?.
That alongside me collecting old games means I don't have a bunch of money for niche experimental games.
I've heard Kao is a good reboot of a niche platformer. I'd described it as a PS2 style 3D platformer with HD graphics.
